Asus "Q-Fan" acting up

I have an ASUS desktop PC M51BC Series computer, and the fan has been acting up recently. I opened the case and cleaned the fans as softly as I could, but they're still working at irregular speeds. I don't have compressed air, but I seemed to get most of the gunk out with regular tissues.

The problem is the fans are going from high to low power constantly. It's troubling to hear my fans go from high to low to high power VERY often, regardless of what I'm doing on the comp.

Any help?

Okay, so only an hour or so after cleaning the fans, it seems to have gone back to normal for the most part. I guess it just took a while to adjust?

Also, Q-Fan probably not the problem here.

Sounds like the fan is dying. I have an Asus G75 (laptop) that is my backup for when I'm travelling and I'm having the same issues. Been having problems with this thing since I bought it a year ago, had to send it back to the manufacturer three times for various issues including a repaste.
