Who are we?
Monster at its core, is a group of talented PVE players, many of whom have raided in top 20 guilds world-wide. However, either due to lifestyle or choice, we do not want to commit the amount of time others feel is necessary in order to secure a top position. Therefore, we only raid two days per week.
Monster's History
In Cataclysm, we managed to maintain a realm first position whilst only raiding three days per week. Notably clearing tiers in a shorter total raiding hours than most of even the top guilds. Not only did we excel at the time committed, but the skill of our DPS secured many top rankings worldwide; most notably as a guild in our first Sinestra kill which we secured a world 2nd time for the encounter.
In Firelands, with Blizzard finally balancing 10 man somewhat correctly, the guild was restructured and downsized. With this, we continued to maintain a realm first position for the rest of the expansion, including a world 93rd Dragonsoul HC. Needless to say, we were the top three day raiding guild in the world.
Upon MOP's release, many of the core players came to the conclusion that the game was no longer enjoyable in its current state, and the decision was made to suspend raiding indefinitely. However, with the hype surrounding WOD many of the old core players have returned to the game and thus Monster is in the process of regaining its former strength, and recruiting suitable players for Mythic progression.
Our plans for the future
Firstly we are aiming to retake our spot as the number one guild on the server as soon as possible, primarily looking towards Blackrock Foundry as the time to push and prove ourselves.
Until then, we are focusing on creating a roster that exceeds our cataclysm realm first team in skill. Whilst these are achieved we will of course be reinstating ourselves as the world’s top two day raiding guild. From that point onwards, there is only refinement in mind. Aiming to compete with the world top 100, even 50 guilds no matter of the raiding days they commit.
What can you expect from us?
Due to the nature and origins of our guilds core, you can expect a friendly and welcoming environment both in raids and out. We have some extremely active and knowledgeable players who have been at the top of the game for many years.
Raiders are encouraged to share and give constructive observations regarding tactics and mechanics, and are never shunned for asking for clarification. We have a laugh and relax on TS a lot of the time and the raiding environment is conducive to healthy progression. That being said, we do take the encounters extremely seriously during progression.
What are we looking for?
We're looking for like-minded individuals, who want to compete at the top tier of current content. Players who have the ability to fit in with our goal of being the top two day raiding guild, just as we were with three.
Because of this, and the extremely limited time we have to raid, you are expected to do the following;
Be knowledgeable of the fights before we arrive. Be prepared and know how to deal with mechanics before entering the raid
Specific raid prep; Flasks, potions, healing tonics and food specific to your class should be stockpiled. Having to waste our time to Hearth and buy more is never acceptable.
Attendance. We will only accept the best, and therefor will not over recruit. This combined with the extremely short raiding hours means that close to 100% attendance is expected. Of course there can be exceptions for certain circumstances.
Punctuality. The raid starts at 19:30, this means that you have to be in the group and inside the raid ready to pull at 19:30.
Be able to listen to instructions. Paying attention pre pull, is just as important as the fight itself.
Finally, be able to adapt and change to the current tier. If another spec is better you are expected to be able to play it.
