[Movies] Your Top 10 Films of 2015 (So Far)

    2012 2013 2014

MMO-Champion Top 10 Movies of 2015 (based on the 11 highlighted lists below):

    01. Mad Max: Fury Road (81 points)

    02. The Martian (64 points)

    03. Ex Machina (51 points)

    04. Star Wars: The Force Awakens (45 points)

    05. Inside Out (44 points)

    06. Jurassic World (34 points)

    07. The Hateful Eight (31 points)

    08. The Revenant (29 points)

    09. Kingsman: The Secret Service (27 points)

    10. Avengers: Age of Ultron (24 points)

Note #1: You don’t need to see 10 movies before posting your list.

Note #2: Some 2014 movies are released in 2015 in a lot of countries, and therefore there's usually a lot of movies on the lists that shouldn’t be there. To prevent this, we use the same rule as the Oscars have, which requires the movie to have been screened in Los Angeles in 2015 to be considered a 2015 movie. If you’re in doubt, a quick visit to IMDb should tell you whether or not it’s a 2015 movie.

Note #3: Do feel free to use the thread to generally discuss the movies of 2015!

    My Top 10 of 2015:

    1. Mad Max: Fury Road - 8

    2. Kingsman: The Secret Service - 7.5

    3. Avengers: Age of Ultron - 7.2

    4. Slow West - 7

    5. Ex Machina - 6.8

    6. Jurassic World - 6.8

    7. Ant-man - 6.7

    8. Infini - 6.5

    9. Chappie - 5.6

    10. Terminator Genesis - 5

4/1/15: So far I'm really excite to see the 2nd Avengers and Mad Max Fury Road.
19/2/15: Saw Kingsman today, I really liked it, I just felt the last part was a little too long and over the top. The Church scene was fantastic, same with the Skydiving part. I'd of also like to of seen a little bit of more the other Kingman. On a side note I still wish Matthew Vaughn had directed Kick-Ass 2.
24/2/15: Next one I'll be seeing is most likely Chappie. The first trailer really grabbed me, but the others since make the film seem a tad stock standard. I hope I'm wrong.
3/3/15: Saw the Trailer to Ex Machina. Added to my list of promising films of 2015!
23/4/15: Watched Avengers... Didn't love it. Was not feeling the best during it either so my ranking may change after another viewing. Next up for me is Fury Road.
9/5/16: Added Infini. An Australia SciFi flick. I really liked the film. Its low budget, but fairly intense. Kind of had a 28 days later / Pandorum feel to it. Its not a perfect though, but still worth checking out. Next up, Fury Road.
14/5/16: Added Mad Max: Fury Road and its taking the top spot. The film had a lot of great things going for it and it looks spectacular. Well worth seeing at the movies. How everything came about felt a tad too forced and it had a bit of a lull in the middle, which is not all that unusual. I'm also a little worried non-Australians might have a hard time with some of the dialogue/accents. Well worth checking out regardless. Might even be worth while seeing in 3D.... and that's not something I normally say.
6/7/7: Watched Chappie on the weekend. Blomkamp is a solid director and I really liked the use of colours in this film. I'm just not sold on his character writing skills which was the big let down. I'm still hoping they go ahead with the Alien project, I just hoping they bring in a few different writers to make the characters more compelling.
20/7/15: Ant-Man. I liked it. I just had a few gripes with some of the characters but I'm happy to see Ant-man in the MCU.
31/7/15: Slow West! It was a pretty solid film, I just think it could have been stronger in a few elements. I also felt it struggled trying to work out what sort of film it wanted to be.
12/10/15: Added Ex Machina and Jurassic World. I liked both, but just wanted them to be so much more then what they gave. I may have had my exceptions a tad too high.
2/11/15: Terminator Genesis. A very average film. Might of been a 6 if I didn't love the original films so much.

I wanna play! I wanna play!

    My Top 10 of 2015:

    1.

    2.

    3.

    4.

    5.

    6.

    7.

    8.

    9. Strange Magic

    10. Kingsmen

Box Office Mojo link for the year 2015

Strange magic was a 20 minute short, filled with an hour of songs to make it a full length movie.
Kingsmen was so over the top, it was literally laughable/cringeworthy to me. Heads exploding into fireworks, seriously... Seriously?!?!?

Most anticipated movies for 2015 to add to the list when they come out: Jurassic World; Star Wars 7; Home (maybe); Mad Max; Terminator Genisys; Minions (gotta be good for a laugh)

I seem most excited for sequels, oh well. Hope they don't suck.

edit: Ant Man Not making my Top Ten even if I don't see 10 films this year. That said, it wasn't as bad as I was expecting, but I am still disappointed that they choose Ant Man over the list of Decent non-mutant characters in the Avengers.

If I was doing a top 20 list which would include TV movies, animes, and Netflix, I would put Ant Man at 20.

I wanna play let me reserve my spot too.

    1. Avengers: Age of Ulton
    2. Terminator Genesys
    3. Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation
    4. Ted 2
    5. Fast and Furious 7
    6. Spongebob: A Sponge Out of Water
    7. Jurassic World
    8.
    9.
    10.

It's weird to say but rather than constructing the list as what I'd most want to watch, I have to base it off what was best. Avengers wasn't my favorite to watch but unfortunately it's been built up from all the other Marvel movies so I have to rank it at the top. (It was a good movie too, but I liked Mission Impossible and Terminator better.)

    Change log:
I haven't seen any movies yet. Not sure if I'll even reach 10...but I'll let you guys know what's up! 1/22/15
Added Spongebob and Avengers. Also added the links for each movie so you can see my review of it. 6/4/15
Added Terminator Genesys, Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, Ted 2, Fast and Furious 7, Jurassic World. 8/25/15

    Added Kingsman: The Secret Service.

First movie of the year for me, and thereby also the top movie so far. Luckily it was a good one, too.

It's been a very, very light year for me so far. But, it started with a really awesome movie. Updated with Kingsman: The Secret Service.
