Yes. At risk of giving something away, I'll just say that quite a few of the main female characters are capable war-makers and/or politicians with a couple being exceptional warriors also.

There are some strong female characters, that are either smart, funny, powerful and independent(or all of it combined). There is also quite a bit of rape and realism. The average farmer woman doesn't really have a chance to stand up to a group of soldiers who wants to get between her legs.

So I've been avoiding game of thrones for a while because I was under the assumption that most of the women in the show were being portrayed as helpless sex slaves. I thought about giving it a shot but the idea that the women are helpless kinda irks me. I'm hoping that there are at least a few of them willing to stand up against their masters. Is there a fair amount of women in the show that don't dance to the wime of their masters or no?
