You are giving J.K. Rowling too much credit by combing 7 books into 1.

Doubt one of those books would be in the top 10.

The Gideons, although I never actually have taken note of which version they place. But King James, New International, New American, etc, etc. I have little doubt that an "all versions" total of the Bible would be runaway #1 on this list.
Especially if you take into account that there are other languages the bible was printed in over the centuries than just English.

I think a lot of those cannot possibly have exact figures. Look at how old some of them are. I have also seen lists that had the Chinese dictionary and IKEA catalogues on it .

The list on wikipedia appears more reliable. They at least give sources for their numbers.

And in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was Åträjurgen. And it was a garden bench.

In terms of French books, I'd think Les Miserables would be much bigger than the Count of Monte Cristo.

I'm surprised The Wizard of Oz isn't on that list.

Typos like those always make me suspicious. Especially when talking about literature.

Wait, so, someone help me out here, are they listing the Quran and King James Bible as fiction? Because the rest of those books are fiction (well except for Tse-Tung).

Soon as I saw the thread I knew there would be at least one predictable and juvenile post about the bible being fiction.

I'd be curious to see what this list would look like adjusted for global population. That 20,000 printing run of XYZ book may not look like much today, but when there were only 600 million people on the planet, it was much more impressive! OK, so the fudged numbers are bad, but you get the idea.
