In a way they already tried this out with the lesser charms. They added something to the game, and then gave players a way to purchase them with real money, if only in Asia. At this point you have to ask yourself why they were added to the game to begin with. Step 1: Introduce hurdle, Step 2: Introduce a way for players to bypass hurdle with real money

And based on your strong opinion in the KLG cheating thread - I'm guessing you would be 100% ok with bypassing "hurdles" with real money, yes?

Well, it turns out this was not from real money but from the garrison resources vendor. Thus proving once again the foolishness and gullibility of the crowd who believes wow will go pay to win.
