    Simcraft BM frenzy stacks and duration

    Cheers.
    Since I encounter the problem of losing the pet's Frenzy buff occasionally I'd like to sim using Frenzy either with 5 stacks or with X stacks and Y remaining duration. However the simcraft line for Focus Fire is

    actions+=/focus_fire,five_stacks=1

    So that's just a check for 5 stacks of frenzy true/false and nothing else. Can anybody help me on the syntax here?

    thanks in advance

    Would really like to know how this turns out if you can get it to work - I've been thinking you should just maintain Focus Fire for a while, it's rare but not unheard of for the pet to go for 30 seconds with no procs.

    Well since my weak aura alert only went off at 5stacks I had it drop twice entirely during a Kargath fight. Now I wrote an Aura to show me 3+ stacks if the remaining duration is 3 seconds or less. Not sure if this is a good setting.

    Well, looking at one of the monk buffs it says:
    actions.st+=/tiger_palm,if=buff.combo_breaker_tp.react&buff.combo_breaker_tp.remains<=2

    So if you add the end of that to Focus Fire...
    actions+=/focus_fire,five_stacks=1&buff.focus_fire.remains<=2

    See if that works? Not 100% sure but eh!

    Nah that's still the "5 stacks" condition. Unfortunately four_stacks or anything similar doesnt work.

    I mean, you should be able to just use a .stack condition like

    actions+=/focus_fire.stack<5

    or

    actions+=/focus_fire.stack=4

    etc.

    .stack is a standard property for all buffs/debuffs.

    Nope, doesn't do the trick. It's a pet buff called frenzy, though. But I don't get that to work either.

    try:
    pet=cat
    active=owner
    /actions+=/focus_fire,if=buff.frenzy.stack<5

    or =4, or =2, etc.

    or something else like that. It's tricky because you're using an action on the hunter based on a buff on the pet, which is why the special condition five_stacks exists in the first place. You might need to declare the pet, check the frenzy buff, then switch back to the owner and perform the focus fire, which is silly. I don't really know a solution without digging into the code. I imagine five_stack is just a focus_fire.react check.

    HA!
    I got it working:

    //Edit:

    actions+=/focus_fire,if=pet.cat.buff.frenzy.stack=5
    actions+=/focus_fire,if=pet.cat.buff.frenzy.stack>=1&pet.cat.buff.frenzy.remains<5

    Seems to produce the best results instead of just using focus fire with 5 stacks only. Slightly more than 100 DPS increase

    My setup just shows me my pet's Frenzy stacks all the time with a little glow effect when reaching <3s, so I can just decide on my own.

    Same for me (though I changed it to 5s). I just wanted to sim how many stacks/seconds were ideal to triger FF in when Frenzy might fall off.

    The behaviour of dumping the stacks in a Focus Fire if the buff is expiring anyway has always been the recommended way to play if you use my Focus Fire WeakAura from SoO - which I should probably update and put up.
