Go for the 9000 series in FX CPUs if you want to stick with AMD, no point going for older technology.

WoW does support more than 4 cores as well.

The difference is within 1% in the few tests Ive seen so could go either way really

FX-9k chips require very expensive motherboard because of the stupid power draw. It would be cheaper to go for Intel instead, and you'll get 50% higher WoW framerate too..

The 8350 is currently AMD's best single threaded performance CPU. Besides the 8370 and 9590.

No please, stay away from the 9000 series CPUs. They get really hot, and require a $200 motherboard to run effectively. There's no reason ever to get one.

This. Some of them use over 225w, while being significantly slower than the i7-4790k (which only uses 84w). Also, the 9000 series ARE older technology. They are overclocked 8350's. That's it. Everything I've seen shows the 4790k beating the fastest 9000 series by almost 40%.
