Back in late 2013 Activison blizzard bought out majority share of its stocks back from Vivendi. They at the time were operating on a negative. Are they back in the positive side yet? How did all of that go down? Did it turn out to be a good move for the company?
They have debt, but IIRC they were still at a net profit on a quarterly basis in terms of their sales/operating costs. I don't believe the buyout was included in their operating costs, and is debt that's realized elsewhere or something. I'd have to give the quarterly earnings call a listen again, as I'm not finance guy, but it was definitely a net positive for the company and while they'll be paying off the debt from the buyout for a while, they're fully in control of the company now which is always a good thing.
