Ventrilo lag on only one of the local computers

Hello, as the title says, one (new powerful laptop) is lagging on ventrilo - constant 1k+ ms, while the other computer does not.
There is no firewall or antivires in the way and it does not lag on any other chat/game/internet instance, just ventrilo.

    edit: adding laptop specs/sys
    laptop: i7,980M, 16gb ram with windows 8.1

    Both wireless?

Plug the one having the issue into a wired connection, disable the wireless and try it again to see the results. Now being wireless, if thats the case, should not be an issue.

Seen some wired annoying shit with wireless.
