Arms nerf... Fury specialists should breathe easier now ..

For those fury specialists worried about having to go arms.. There is hope!

Arms nerf incoming as per blue post:

Mastery for Arms warriors is definitely something we've been looking at very carefully. Mastery is meant to be one of your strongest secondary stats for increasing single-target damage which is why it was buffed. However, we're also seeing some numbers that indicate it might be a bit too powerful, so we're considering dialing it back a bit, but keeping it above where it originally started.

Enjoying WoW again but I forgot how much I disliked their class design and hotfix nonsense. On paper it's nice to have a fluent experience where problem areas are weeded out without large patch cycles and balance is kept on top of... but the actual reality is nowhere near that, it's just awkwardly selected & barely tested musical chairs.

Don't kid yourself, Arms is still going to be the top-tier Warrior DPS spec on like, 5 out of 7 fights.

Arms need to be nerfed. It is ridiculous for a cleave spec to beat 10 ilevels on a ST fight with a 645 unenchanted grandiose axe... That's just OP. Nerf arms!https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...0092&target=77

why would you want your own class nerfed?

because sims and recount exists, so people have this wierd notion that they have to play the numerically superior spec regardless if they enjoy the playstyle or not. Thus if arms is better than fury, people argue that fury is then useless, even if arms is only better by a few k :P

I think most fury warriors would like arms to remain as a cleave spec... Not a one spec for all that we are seeing now...

Take a look at this... Arms on every fight... Warriors are supposed to be dual wielding and smashing things... Whenever I swith to arms... A little part of me dies inside

    Theoretically, nope.

Given that I don't know the guy who did these calcs, nor have I run my own sims to confirm it. Also, these sims have more than likely been run on Patchwerk style fights, and is not the average out of Patchwerk/Cleave fights, so there's room for improvement on the sim side here.

But given the data that we have at the moment, Arms will see a bigger gain going from 0->4pc than 1hFury/2hFury.

    Doesn't say much to me.

    Debatable.
I always played Arms, and seeing the spec like this when Fury used to be the end all be all, in cleave fights especially, makes me feel bad.
Moreso due to Arms' inherent problems. Namely, there's no design for the spec.

Begin of addon: Arms > Fury ... after a 1 tier: Fury ~ Arms ... after one additional tier: Fury >>>>>>>>> Arms

And I guess the nerf will only effect the aoe so great job ... Arms will be still better than a fury better in 5/7 fights but only with some different numbers.

Nothing against our Arms bros... But you can't have everything.. Cleave and ST right

Even before the buff, I prefered Arms over Fury, just because of the pace. It's a bit clunky, yes, but I still like it more. I switch to SMF Fury on single target fights (one-handers are the way God intended!) and it's fine too, but meh. I really like that as Arms you can go BIG DICK on aoe or execute phase. Thats the way it should be!
I heard a lot of people saying that execute phase doesn't matter on progression. Wiping on H Lei Shen 0.05% is dark. A lot of Butcher first kills are just hanging by a thread of a bubbled holy paladin and raid leader screaming, that fight is all about that last stretch. If you can be middle of the pack and break out on the last 20% - it's fine by me.

And btw, if being a "fury specialist" is to stack crit and spam wild strike like there is no tomorrow - then no thx. If I wanted to play a proc-based keyboard breaker, I would dust off my Ret spec.

Titans Grip is an abomination that should never have seen the day light. Arms will always be closest to my heart in all type of content.

EDIT: I always find these threads interesting, because they're always in the same spirit of "Now arms will be worse, now us real warriors can play dual wield hurr". While whenever the reverse comes around, i.e Arms being the buffed and Fury the nerfed then barely any of these threads pop up, except said Fury specialists going all mad being forced to play Arms. Which I might remind you arms players have been forced to do (to play Fury) for the most of the existence of this game even though Arms to them is the funnier specc.

But a fury specialists can plan the procs because he is a specialist who can avoid rng factors ;-) THATS why they are specialists *trollolol*

Banking procs or using Bers for a non crit BT is planning? Please.... Most of the time you just push shit that lights up. The more gear you have, the more shit you push, and less thinking you do about it. Effective multidotting and maximizing CS dump has a lot more planning involved, tbh.

i have no idea why ure whining. IF U ARE NOT PLAYING FOR REALM FIRST Achivment why u use spec that you dont enjoy? play other spec / class. Its simple. I dont like fury (despite before arms buff it was way better on ST fights) so i play arms. i know its boring but i just prefer it. end

Titan's Grip as a concept is one of the best things they did to distinguish the warrior class from the other melee dps.

I felt Warriors were pretty distinguished before WotLK, but hey, that's just me.
