    Get paid $18k... to Raid?

NASA is taking volunteers to lie in a bed for 70 days (plus an additional few days during the pre-conditioning phase) and will be paying out $18,000 per test subject/applicant. During this time, it says, you're allowed to use your phone, play games, etc., so would this be an ideal time to take a break from a dead-end job, participate in a study to help further humanity's pursuit of life beyond Earth, AND WoW full-time in that high-end progression guild you've always dreamed of?

    Here! Clicky for the details!

People seem to think this would be easy.

Not moving for 70 days is going to have a serious, serious toll on your body, you're really not going to feel good.

It causes strange aches all over your body and makes you think you might be dying but when I went to the doctor he said I was healthy O.o

You couldn't pay me a million dollars to lay in bed for 70 days, it works out to be like $10 an hour at 18k so no thanks, but I wish those who are insane enough to do this the best of luck.
Happy new year to all, and to all a good night!

    I mean...like...70 days?
Its cool when you first look at the offer BUT when you think about it more...I can play for hours and hours. I can spend 20 hours with little breaks playing wow. 70 days seems unhealthy and it's too much. But I believe that there will be much enthusiastic peoples for that.

what exactly are the physics of an astronaut? I know the first man in space was picked because he was short but that was back in the day in the USSR.

That sounds awful. I get really angry when I can't get out of bed for a day when I'm sick. This would be so much worse...
I don't think this matters nearly as much as you think it does.

I'd consider it for a million, but $18k is way too low considering that it's an all day "job" and will likely have serious health ramifications. At a minimum I'd want to get maximum health care coverage for a year after the study is over.

    Nope.

Imagine the muscular dystrophy and bed sores. Ugh. I assume they are testing this to see about moving people through the solar system this way?

That link is fucked. If this is actually NASA, you would think they could keep their SSL certs updated.

    Uh...yes. Absolutely.

I wouldn't do it. 70 days is a long time to be in bed.

Chrome doesn't check SSL certs, or CRL's. IE is (sadly) the most secure in that front, Opera just behind them, and firefox somewhere in the middle.

    Do you use Chrome?

Not worth it. The damage is much longer lasting than you might think.
