The innovation is certainly nice but I hope it will find mostly professional uses and stays out of the concumer market as much as possible.
I fear it will make people turn inward even more than smartphones.
The Hololens is for porn
The Hololens is for porn
Why you think the 'Lens was born?
Porn Porn Porn
'Twas a cutlass swipe or an ounce of lead
Or a yawing hole in a battered head
And the scuppers clogged with rotting red
And there they lay I damn me eyes
All lookouts clapped on Paradise
All souls bound just contrarywise, yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!
Nice strawman. I don't play WoW, but you know. I don't play video games much at all, either. Oh, and those people who "made millions" off people "like me". I'm working my way up to being one of them. You know, software developer and all. Hilariously enough, there are people who make millions off the sportsball people, too. It's almost like people have different hobbies, and value the time they spend on those hobbies. Almost like we're "wasting time" on this forum right now, while some are "wasting time" analyzing and chatting about who's going to win the superbowl, while some are "wasting time" watching TV, while some are "wasting time" working on their cars while some are...
Almost like... gasp... "something I'm not interested in anymore" doesn't make a hobby worthless or a waste of time.
Also, thanks for calling me garbage. I'm sure you know me and all.

Microsoft advertising is there own worst enemy sometimes. That is the most blatant overhyping I've seen in a while, and there's no way there actual product will live up to anywhere near that.
I actually love the idea, the tech, and have been waiting for years for a viable product for AR. But don't out and out lie to people to try and sell it.
"Well shit, ya'll have fun now"
This is nice and all, but I honestly doubt that Microsoft is able to realize this project. The amount of development time needed, resources, money and 3rd-party support to lift this thing off the ground would be massive. Then we'd also need to factor in the consumers and business' need for wearables and we have the nail in the coffin. Sadly the market for wearables is still relatively small and not as fast growing as the smartphone market used to.
So I don't see it happening any time soon. The market isn't ready for this yet.
