There will be another item squish after the next expansion but one

Prepare for another item squish. I did some calculations on how item level correlates to weapon dps. The result was surprisingly a rather static percentage increase per itemlevel of ~0.9344% in dps.
This leads to these future expansion dps'es: http://i.imgur.com/qMgGa3e.png
EXP7 will feature MOP levels of damage, just like we had 3.4k dps one-handers in Siege of Orgrimmar.

Or just deflate item level. They major problem and reason for the squish was the 32 bit system WoW was written in. They changed it to 64 so it wouldn't be that much of a problem anymore.

It had to happen eventually. Item level power has to increase exponentially in order to feel the increase as tiers come out.

Look at first dev interview after release. They said and I quote "Every tier, players gain a percentage increase in stats from the previous one, this is the very definition of an exponential increase. The squish is not a one time thing"

Nope you're wrong. They have literally said a few months back that numbers will be a problem in the future again. They also have to increase the power of gear exponentially to make it feel rewarding. It's also very important when designing encounters, so you can outgear them at some point.

Keep in mind, the highest ilvl gear in Mists (aside form the cloak) was something like 572. Dungeons were 463 when it was released and balanced around. If this expansion has a third tier and follows a similar trend, could be around 740. Assuming that's the case and the next jump is also like 40 ilvls that's 780. Making the first raid tier's Mythic ilvl as high as 850.

The ilvl inflation could be a lot faster than expected.
Soothing Mist:"Healing them for a minor amount every 0.5 sec, until you take any other action."
Jade Serpent Statue: "The statue will also begin casting Soothing Mist on your target. healing for 50% as much as yours. "
    [What's half of minor?]
"Statue casts Soothing Mist at a nearby ally for toddler healing."

The difference is that the level of gear now in terms of power between tiers is not nearly the same amount as Mists was.
