Yeah, ANet has this annoying habit of being respectful of their players, both in how they run the business and how they develop content. (or at least appearing to be)

It makes me want to play their game even when I don't really want to play it.

Yeah, I remember when they banned streamers at launch, for encountering a bug and thus "advertising" it. Such a respectful bunch. Really makes me want to play their games.

I actually came here loking for a release date on the expansion (though apparently there isn't one), since I remember enjoying the leveling process and felt like playing it some again, but your comment brought back great memories of launch that I had forgotten, such as that one, so I guess I just lost the urge to play it after all. Oh well.

Agreed with this :/ Especially since the focus of elite specs has been changing the basic mechanics of how the class works shortbow especially seems like it would be pointless for warriors :/

It's from that_shaman like always. He datamined all the weapon looks specilizations get (the ones that were revealed so far were in there too) and some art work for specilizations. One was a theif using the staff he datamined and the only thing that didn't have a home at this point was this shortbow which would go to warriors.

Ele getting warhorn was based off the look of the warhorn connecting to the name tempest.

Oh I was wrong about the shortbow. I looked again and it's not under the same classification as the other specilization weapons. So warrior is still unknown.

Last I heard was shortbow. But I don't want to read too much on the Reddit. Want to experience as much as possible "fresh" and without a lot of expectations.

Staff on a Thief makes me think of Robin Hood.

Historically, the Bo and Quarterstaff were actually formidable martial weapons.

I don't think it would be ill fitting for either a Warrior or Thief to wield a staff as a more martial orientated weapon- such as a Brigand, Highwayman or Bushranger.

Do you think the current skins for staves would support a melee function? It would be more likely that tridents would gain use as an on-land weapon for them (I'm picturing Roman/Greek Gladiator). That would make sense I feel.

Thats a major complaint i had already posted on the official forums. Most staffs don't have a melee look. But people hyping staff thief because of this image and this weapon:
