    Heroic Imperator

    Hello

My team has been working on heroic Imperator for 2 weeks. We have downed him in normal. We are falling apart at the end of the second intermission and going into the 4th phase. For some reason, we can get the reaver and 1 mage down by the end of the intermission but we are going into the final phase with 1 mage still up (pretty much at full health). We have been trying to leave him up and ignore him but I feel the extra damage he is doing (despite fixated people getting out of the raid) is overwhelming us. We run 4 healers, 2 tanks and 14 or 15 DPS. In the second intermission, we save CD's and the 2nd potion and blow everything but still can only get the 2 down. Any advice? We tank the reaver and mages apart.

Logs for our last attempts: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...pe=damage-done

    Thank You

Go to your logs and your attempts with 11 minutes and 12 minutes. Your dps isnt horrible for Heroic Imp to be honest. but look at all the damage output from force nova. Wayyyyy to much damage

Also until the actual 2nd phase all healers should have 90-99% mana if not 100%

Also after he drops you could always have the raid turn burn little adds then turn back around and burn mage. We did that on our first downing and it worked well.

The BM hunter didn't use pot with hero on one try. Didn't check others :d
You seem to not be interrupting the war mages.

    That warlock needs to go.

The fight is all about healer mana and reducing damage taken to preserve healer mana.

I would focus all your efforts around taking less force nova damage, dropping arcane wrath at lower stacks, taunting more effectively, killing abberations faster and interrupting Gorian Warmages better.

I personally think leaving a warmage up is a bad idea and makes the fight harder. You can kill him in the last phase just switch to the abberation when it comes up.

I personally believe in putting all your ranged on the reaver and melee on the mage in the 2nd intermission. Ranged can multidot all 3 of course. As soon as Imp teleports your melee can get in place. It's close to 10 seconds of lost DPS standing around waiting for the Reaver.

If the hunters are not being assigned to be brand bitches they should be using their deterrence on novas or anything to reduce mana required to heal them. On your best attempt 1 hunter used it twice, the other zero.

That monk isn't helping with mages. He's aoeing the little adds. You should be able to tank the adds during the whole intermission. As Mar'gok comes down, group them, pop a devotion aura or priest bubble and aoe them down. You're just wasting mana killing them without a reduction cooldown. In the final phase make sure the adds that spawn from the big Abberation are being stunnned and aoe'd down fast. (They no longer explode).

Take a look at the replay tab and you can see exactly what everyone is doing. Other than that like others said you need to reduce the damage of force nova. People need to run/jump through it and if you take more than 6 ticks per nova you're probably standing in it.

We've only been killing H Imp for 3 weeks now, yesterday was 1 attempt kill. We basically approach the 2nd intermission and phase 4 the exact same way as you do. Reaver+1 mage (closer to the boss transition spot), and leave the last mage alive. Phase 4 doesn't last very long because we always have a second hero ~15 seconds into the phase 4.

2nd intermission is all about doing as much dps as possible, keeping everyone stacked behind reaver (he cleaves) in between the mage and the boss, get some aoe heals, and obviously have the 2 fixates running out and back in.

Phase 4: Be careful with the intermission arcane adds, you will start taking alot of damage in this phase, so make sure you pop bubbles or kill them in a timely manner. Slowly start spreading loosely, so you don't get caught by the nova. Pop hero, burn boss and its add. Ignore the mage for the rest of the fight.

We actually didnt wipe much in phase 4 once we got through 2nd transition during our progression. If you can keep everyone alive, and your healers with enough mana by phase 4, it should be a cake walk.

Imperator wipes are rarely about "1 key mechanic" (except for mines). This fight has so many mechanics, and wipes are the result of all of them not being executed well enough. Typically P4 wipes are the result of deaths from players taking too much damage from avoidable sources, and healers simply running out of mana.

Review your "deaths" tab on your good attempts, and notice how almost all the deaths are different. I am looking at your 12:52 attempt.

    - Warlock killed by Reaver - No. Tank him facing away from raid.
    - 2 deaths to Destablize - have one DPS join the tanks after Reaver dies and keep them dying gradually instead of all at once.
    - Druid died to Orb of Chaos - Can't lose anyone to those orbs
    - You lost 3 melee in quick succession to Force Nova, so I suspect they didn't run away from boss 2 seconds prior to Nova. Melee gotta spread there!!

Most everyone else had slow deaths. This is the combined effect of people executing mechanics less than perfectly, and Healers simply not keeping up.

    Here's a non-exhaustive list for you:

    - Kill Reaver and 1 Mage before boss lands
    - Kill 2nd Mage before first Arcane add spawns (if possible - otherwise, run out of the raid if you're fixated 'till boss dies).
    - Kill Arcane adds very quickly. Kill smaller adds quickly. They should all be dead prior to the next spawn.
    - Continue to limit arcane wrath damage. Use defensive cooldowns/potions liberally.
    - Make sure people spread out - *especially melee* for Force Nova. You cannot afford the extra damage from the Replication effect.
    - Make sure NO ONE is hit by an orb from Mark of Chaos. Tank should be against a wall, and orbs should be very spread out before arriving at the raid.

Finally, Imperator gets substantially easier as people gear up. A little more DPS, a little more HP, and little more healing make a huge different. Adds die faster, people last longer, heals are harder and last longer.

Some people are taking twice the damage they should from force novas (literally).

Some people aren't switching to the adds that aoe (ele shammy is the worst at this)

In a war of attrition you need to reduce damage taken. The biggest 2 things are the ones I mentioned.
