why do so many people think its pro war propaganda?
the movie showed the horrors of war through PTS, and the heroes' nationalistic views destroying his personal life.

When I first saw trailer of that movie, I thought of that video of Stephen Colbert fist-bumping eagle. And "America, fuck yeah!" of course. My actual question is: I'm not american. Should I even bother?

His job was to kill war enemies. Of course he liked it. That doesn't mean he was psychotic or a danger to innocent people. He was killing people that he observed torturing and murdering their own innocent countrymen. I'd enjoy removing savages from the planet too.

They're savages. They, and the government they were supporting were guilty of crimes against humanity. And their leader was convicted and sentenced as such by the Iraqi people on December 30th, 2006. Enemy combatants are not innocent civilians, and you have zero evidence that Chris Kyle ever killed an innocent civilian.

fucking hell... I hate Greg Abbot and all the idiots that are glorifying him.

I thought the movie was ok although it was full of sensationalism as expected from a Clint Eastwood movie. Reading the book gives you a different feel about Chris Kyle. He was the stereotypical Texas redneck, nothing more nothing less, and just happened to be very very good at shooting long ranges. It also takes a lot of mental and physical fortitude to be a navy seal which says a lot about someone that can make the program.

Chris Kyle was more the working man type, don't think he graduated from college. With that in mind he probably was a bit racist, like a lot of working class people everywhere.

Yea my brother lives in TX and can't stand the dude. There seems to be something seriously wrong with Abbot's thought process in general.

Killing people, no matter how evil they are, should never be fun, it only shows lack of empathy. People who find killing fun, in my opinion, should never be allowed to own a gun or join military.

Unless you are making up your own version of the "left wing", there really isn't a left wing with any kind of political power in this country. Kinda like how people claim that Democrats are socialists but evidence proves them wrong. Much like there isn't real "Libertarians" in power either.

Yes, every time someone makes up their own definition of parties we do.

Wonder if we can get a mod to sticky it with a Note: Before making any references to Left/Right political alignments please view this and see where our current politicians lie.

I agree with Ventura fully on this matter, about the war and about Chris Kyle; I don't really think he was the worst person on the planet or anything, or even in the millitary. I realize I can never say that in some places in the country without getting my ass kicked, but opinions are opinions.
    You're a towel.

This is just an aside, but you can be reasonably certain that Kyle killed civilians, and meant to. He said he shot any male he saw.

We could ask but you have people like Vyxn, Hooked, and The Penguin to name a few that casually ignore the evidence in front of their face and call everyone left of the Republicans FAR LEFT.

I enjoyed the movie, it describes a reality, to be offended by a movie based on what is the truth to a lot of people seems idiotic, if anything is wrong with it (didnt see anything wrong tbh) its with the real events, not with their depiction.
Its not a great movie by itself, theme isnt very interesting to me but it was worth watching, if you find yourself with nothing to do, give it a try, why not.
