Try posting this in the computer forums instead, you'll get better responses (generally)

Asus Z97-A or Gigabyte GA-Z97-D3H should be in your price range and are excellent motherboards.

What's the case you got? atx, micro, mini?

I build a small budget setup for my father last night with the i3 4160. It was a micro case so i used a ASRock H97M PRO4, its a nice little board considering the cost. There is mini-micro-atx variations depending on your case.

Those are both over $100, Asus Z97-A is around $140 and Gigabytes at $118

Any socket 1150 motherboard will do, there are a ton in your price range, it just depends on the features you want.

On a budget, the Z97 will alow for a overclocked cpu upgrade in the futrue, if your not interested in that, go with the cheaper one.

Didn't know it was that expensive in the US. The Asus H97M-E should fit the bill. You won't be able to SLI but other than that it should fit most needs: 6 USB 3 ports, 4 SATA 3, 1 PCIE 3.0 16x, ...

Nowadays motherboards have less and less responsabilities and have little more than 0 % influence on system speed. Any socket 1150 motherboard from a reputable (Asus & subbrand Asrock; Gigabyte, msi) brand should do.
