Disagreeing with ascension on both Hanz+Franz and flamebender, both fights where it's much more beneficial to be able to use your on pull burst and controllable chi/TeB than the extra few chi you would get over the fight from ascension.

They're also both relatively shorter fights, thus making the on pull burst more relevant, thus Chi Brew being more valuable. So far only found use for ascension on Throgar and maidens, but on mythic throgar i'll probably use chi brew just because more skc damage isn't going to be that relevant I imagine.

Personally I'd be using chi brew for most of the fights in BRF with possibly the exception of Thogar.

It's probably not a concern for heroic, but being able to burst into the burn phase (sub 20%) on Mythic Maidens is very useful too. By the time you get to Maidens if you do all three ships then you'll have a large time of DPS down phase during the last boat but I expect lots of guilds will try to skip the third boat.

Question for Iron Maidens:

I looked at the top ranking WW monk, and i saw he uses RSK every time it's off cooldown, which means he casts less ChiX.
but i saw somewhere on this forums, that it should be used only to maintain the debuff.

So, how come more RSK actually does better than ChiX?

Last I checked (middle of december), cloned RSK is more damage/chi on 2 targets than cloned 4-chex, and on 3 targets it is pretty close. A fair amount of the maidens fight is only 2 targets.

You need to factor in tigereye stacks gain, less ChiX = lower TeB uptime = lower dps.

I run chi brew on Flamebender because the only hard part of the fight is killing the two sets of dogs ASAP. Use 1 charge of Brew on the pull, and save your on use trinket for the first set of dogs. Then use pot + xuen + on-use trinket for the 2nd set of dogs.

the other WW monk is my guild got his 4 set today, after explaining how it works to him it got me wondering, and him when we should be using TEB with 4 set. I was thinking, is it beneficial to save TEB for when you get a MS increase proc (tiger strikes, frost wolf proc, trinket procs) and not use it on other types of procs that you might have like a crit or agi proc. obviously if you were to hit 20 stacks you'd use it anyways without caring what is/isn't proced.

just an idea i had and figured i'd ask here on whether this would be beneficial or not

Anyone know if we can ToK an Acid Torrent in place of the offtank on Oregorger? The damage is quite high, so I figure Fort Brew or Fort Brew + Dampen Harm on top are required.

Didn't test it, but I can't see why not. FB + DH or Zen Medi should be enough to keep the damage low.

1st kill of my guild i soaked one with Zen Med when the tank got in a OH SHIT moment and no healer CD were up, nobody died, so yea.. it works.

You can also taunt + Zen Med while Hans & Franz are casting Crippling Supplex to soak that.

Blackhand (disclaimer: still didn't manage to kill him on heroic).

in 2nd phase, you can soak 2 spears when needed (when siege is dead), by using Zed Med.
It will negate the initial damage from both spears completely, and knock you back.
make sure to ToK beforehand, then immediately use DH/fort brew, and you'll still need a lot of heals.

in my expirence, using transcendence to get back from knockback, is very risky, since there might be mines placed right around the spirit.

Very much not recommended. Have your tanks soak them instead. They will survive significantly more easily than you, and will, by default, receive much more healing than you do.

Kromog Mythic:

Most of the time you get a chance to use ToD on one set of Grasping Earth between the first and second pillar spawns.

Iron Maidens Mythic:

Serenity is a very viable talent choice for this, particularly if you're doing the 3 boat strategy. It's less DPS overall but lets you go on the Admiral's and Marak's boat. WW is an excellent choice for this since we can pool our TeB stacks and get extra ToD on the boat adds.
