What do other cultures think about African and Native Americans?

Aussie here. I think African Americans just have this great, infectious, feel-good optimism and take-no-shit attitude they carry everywhere with them. Totally mean that in a good way. They make you feel better about yourself just by being in the same room as them. Great energy

Native Americans I don't have such a good reference point for but I've always gotten the vibe much more on time with nature,a bit more chill and thoughtful than white Americans.. Hate to stereotype but that's all I've got to work with.

I met a native american girl once... I was working on the Navajo reservation in Teec Nos Pos, working to paint and dry wall a traditional hogan dwelling.

Drunk and disorderly, the use of mouthwash comes to mind but for trying to get a buzz rather than for hygiene. Crying "Muh land" and otherwise milking their minority status for all its worth.

What I mean is that they have a culture that seems to perpetuate remaining lower class.
Compare them to another minority: Asians. Here's a quote about the Asian culture among Asian Americans, and elsewhere in the world: "the Confucian ethic—the creation of dedicated, motivated, responsible, and educated individuals and the enhanced sense of commitment, organizational identity, and loyalty to various institutions"

Can you imagine this being applied to the African American lower class? I can't.
- In education they make up 16% of the student pool, but receive 40% of the suspensions.
- The unemployment rate for Black high school dropouts is 47 percent. By comparison, the unemployment rate for White high school dropouts is 26 percent.
- Nationwide, 16 percent of persons under the age of 18 are Black, and 32 percent of total juvenile arrests are of Black youth.
- They make up 14% of the U.S. population but 37% of the homeless population.
- Almost 8% of adult African Americans have had a felony conviction, that's 4 times as much as the rest of the population.

There's a lot of issues at play, but there's clear differences in culture that contribute to the way things are. A lot of Asians do poorly and a lot of black people do well, but statistically it looks pretty grim.

Something we don't think about with Native Americans is the diversity in culture. In the US we do have regional differences and hyper polerization with politics, but we're fairly monocultured on the greater scale. Native America was a much more diverse place largely due to lack of infrastructure and communication. A bit like ancient Europe was.

Don't forget the timeline.. It's not even 50 yrs since MLK was assassinated. The rights for black people moving very slowly along.
The country has still a long way to go. Things are getting better, but slowly, and these people still have to fight for the changes to happen.
Racism is very much alive, and - sadly - effects both sides.
I've experienced it coming from white people and from black people.
As non-American the situation is a rather puzzling one for me.

I don't think much of either. As a hispanic, I'm used to African Americans, but I don't view them as some anomaly needed to delve into and understand. Never met a Native American aside from the typical white person who claims they're 10% Navajo or Cherokee or some other tribe.

You can almost never point to specific rituals, behaviors or explicit values in a culture and say "this causes X". So no, I can't explicitly state how their culture makes them do anything, and anyone who tells you that they can are lying. You can take general examples and use them to show a general trend, like education statistics to show what role education has in the culture, but you can't say what's causing it in any sort of explicit sense.
