Retailers offering partial refunds or full refunds on GTX 970's.

From various articles online, retailers are offering full or partial refunds for the 3.5 VRAM instead of advertised 4GB of VRAM for the GTX 970.

we have a thread for this already: http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/...-see-this-ASAP

the "performance issues" you are suffering are because you're using a GTX card for "intense 3D imaging work" , that kind of work is what workstation cards are specifically designed for, the "performance issues" are because 970 doesn't have the right bios, drivers, or double floating point precision, not because of the VRAM, meaning you really don't have a valid claim for a refund based on the VRAM

additionally, the card does have 4Gb of VRAM, the last 512MB are just slower than the rest

also, "as a one time exception" generally means don't go blabbing about this on forums, congratulations, Baljinder there might get in trouble so you can get an extra $18.53

While I don't disagree with you, the whole "one time exception" is a load of crap they obviously threw in to make the customer feel special. It's just a customer service tactic. Amazon has been giving partial refunds of up to 25% pretty consistently, with 15-20% being the more common amounts. None the less I have seen up to 25%. The rep isn't going to get in trouble as they've been instructed to give refunds and have a max amount they're allowed to give (which I'm going to assume is 25%). He's just low balling to start out with to try and save the company money as it probably helps him out and he was probably instructed to do so. Most would just take the 15% and be happy with it..
