Clarification on Salvage

Tier-3 salvage recovered from Follower missions no longer has an independent chance to drop an uncommon (green), rare (blue), or epic (purple) item and will instead always drop one of them. This change is intended to reduce overall item spam without affecting their value. Existing chance for Tier-3 salvage to potentially also contain an uncommon Tier-2 salvage item remains unchanged.

So... previously, i could get up to 5 items from salvage,
a grey
an ore/herb
a green/blue/purple,
an extra green/blue/purple
an upgrade trinket, either 615/630/645 or a +3/6/9.

turning in about 500 big crates could net me between 3-5k gold in vendors/DE with high price xmog to spare.

What exactly can drop from these now?

Why should i open them all today instead of waiting?

You open a T3 crate today, you get:
- A grey
- An herb
- A green
- A green
- A Blue

You open a T3 crate tomorrow, you get:
- A grey
- An herb
- A green, OR another green, OR a Blue, but not all 3.

Also tomorrow, you wont get 615/630/645 armor/weapon upgrades anymore. You will still get +3/6/9 items though

- maybe an herb
- maybe green
- maybe a blue
- maybe a purple

You open a T3 crate tomorrow, you get:
- A grey

- definitely A green OR a blue OR a purple

I had over 700 crates banked.

I started opening them yesterday.

90 crates in, 13 were ONLY grays.

None had more than 2 items.

I'll wait til tomorrow.
