Seriously wonder what the fuck the Jays are on bringing back J.A Happ, he SUCKED when he was in Toronto, he is going to be bad again.

Price to the Red Sox. Wonder how that will go. See how he performs with the Boston pressure.

I feel like he really better have his stuff against righty power hitters in Fenway. He's an elite pitcher, obviously, but... fuck me if that green monster isn't tasty to a lineup like the Jays have.

Price to the Red Sox all but ensures the Dodgers will outbid the Giants for Greinke. 6y/185M maybe?

Well, Boston can enjoy their overpaid, hasn't won a playoff game pitcher for the next 7 years. Gonna love seeing the Jays walk into Fenway and light his sorry ass up 4 or 5 times next year.

David Price 3-year splits vs. Toronto:

    4-0 Record
    2.70 Earned Run Average
    43.1 Innings Pitched
    38 Hits
    15 Runs
    13 Earned Runs
    6 Home Runs
    8 Walks
    37 Strikeouts
    .235 batting average against.

In his only start against Toronto last year he went 7 innings, gave up 8 hits and 1 run against, struck out 7 and walked 1.

In 11 career starts at Fenway Park he has a 6-1 record, and a 1.95 ERA.

And that start he had against Toronto last year, was well before the trade deadline, the Jays weren't exactly a legitimate team prior to the All Star Game. And the Jays obliterated Boston's pitching this year at Fenway Park on a few occasions, it is a hitters park. Besides, I did say that he hasn't won a single playoff game, and he wasn't exactly good for the Jays either, not on a level with actual elite pitchers who have won playoff games. Either way, Price would have been better off with the Cubs I think, an NL park and a team that could be a World Series contender with him on their roster. I just don't see Boston making the playoffs with that rotation, they only have two really legit guys and 3 question marks, plus their defense is so so. Oh well, like usual, I look forward to seeing Boston fans get salty over being pummeled by the Jays.

The lineup the Jays fielded against Price last year was:

    Reyes
    Donaldson
    Bautista
    Encarnación
    Valencia
    Martin
    Colabello
    Pillar
    Travis

So it's not really like it was a spring training lineup. The bravado is fun, but you're writing a check that the Blue Jays historically haven't been able to cash.

The fact is that Price has been very good pitching in the AL East. The contract is pretty bad for the Red Sox, or at least it has a good chance to be bad toward the end, but I think they'll be very happy if he helps put them in the position where he has an opportunity to shit the bed in the postseason.

And shit, in this century Boston has a 153-137 record vs. Toronto so I'm not sure any saltiness exists. For most Sox fans, I think the Blue Jays have been pretty much irrelevant for a long time other than the Roger Clemens thing.

If Price has 3 good years and he opts out after the 3, it will actually be a very good contract for the Red Sox. If he can't handle the Boston atmosphere and tanks, it'll suck. If he stays the full 7, the back end will suck.

Mariners managed to deal Trumbo before they would've likely non-tendered him so that's good for them. Only got a backup catcher but everything helps at that position.

Dipoto being pretty good about replacing the Jack Z strike out machine, once in a while a dinger prospects. Beefed up the outfield a bit. Lots of work still to do though. Felix never gonna see a playoff game for sure now, at least as a starter.

Can Greinke just pick the Dodgers already. We all know the Giants are only being included in talks as leverage.

This rumor that somebody offered Samardzija $100 mil might be screwing up the pitching market. Also hear Cueto turned down 6 years $120. Unless people overpay like the Red Sox I think pitchers are taking their time.

He clearly cares more about the money than winning. Are the Dbacks really even contenders even with him?

We already knew this, he said as much himself, BOOM there goes the market more than $34 mil annually.

So the Dodgers will pay $160M+ for Cueto and the Giants will spend about as much on Samardzija+Leake?

Yeah, it's pretty sad that Greinke would sign with the DBags over a contending team (including extending with the Dodgers). The Diamondbacks aren't even a playoff worthy team. Had it been the Cardinals, yeah you might have a chance of at least making the playoffs there, but there are so many more teams that would have been a better fit as far as chances at a championship. The Yankees, Cubs, Blue Jays, Red Sox (likely to at least be in the playoff picture next season), Mets (not that they need an ace pitcher), obviously the Dodgers and Giants as well, all teams that would have liked to have Greinke on their rosters. Pretty fucking pathetic how some of these clowns are in it for the money.
