The Dodgers plan of just waiting for McCarthy and Ryu to come back and hoping for the best until then is not working out so well. Gonna call up another spot starter for Wednesday.
They have no other options than to wait it out, really. The trade pool for starting pitching is as dreadful as next year's FA pool. They are basically the same. It makes Friedman and the twenty other co-GMs look foolish for not signing Greinke or Cueto when they have virtually unlimited money (and don't care about being in the red from an operations standpoint.) They've lost money on the Dodgers every year since the Guggenheim Group took over. Speculating on Maeda and penny-pinching on Kazmir was the wrong play.
Then again, the Dodgers aren't hitting either. Kike is playing at a minor league level. Puig is back and swinging on every first pitch. Only Seager seems to be a bright spot in the line-up right now.
The trouble is that Adrian Gonzalez has fallen off the map offensively, he is slugging .372. We all knew his decline would come in time, but it has been precipitous, he's on pace for ~70 RBI, two years after leading the league with 116. I imagine he will bounce back somewhat, but he won't likely reach the level of performance he's hit in the past.
What about Puig? This would be the 4th straight season (out of 4) where his average and power numbers have declined, curious to see how the Dodgers handle him.
It's easier to count the Dodgers who are hitting than the ones that aren't. Seager, a rookie, is leading the team in most offensive stats by a big clip. Justin Turner's a distant second. After that, it's A-Gon, who isn't being paid to have negative WAR through half a season.

Lucas Giolito appears to be the real deal. Nats pitching staff just got even better. Rich get richer.
Turner and Pederson injured in consecutive days, Kershaw in LA getting his back looked at, woohoo! Good times!
At least Urias got his first big league win, even let him go to 100 pitches.
Nats sweep the Mets. Normalcy being restored.
When your backup catcher breaks his hand off a foul tip, you know that things aren't going for you as far as injuries go.
Pretty sure Kike went to the DL because of a broken batting average more than any real injuries.
The Giants also have a rather long DL.
Giants - 8 players on DL
Dodgers - 8 players on DL
Mariners - 8 players on DL
Cubs - 10 players on DL
Lemme know when you boys get to double digits and maybe I'll listen to the complaints.
Everybody deals with injuries, this is just a pretty overwhelming amount for a 3-4 day period. Plus nobody else has Kershaw on the DL.
