Fire Emblem Series: Where to Start?

Path of Radiance is the only Fire Emblem I've played to date. How does that one stack up difficulty-wise compared to the others? I just remember Astrid and Mia being stupid-overpowered in late-game. Astrid having pretty much perma-crits and firing two arrows per turn from long range + having the horse mobility bonus. And Mia leaving her at 25% health for the Berserker bonus and First Initiative -- she could basically clear entire maps solo, as she always got to attack first, double crit and killed them every time.

Bravely Default is really awesome too, after playing it and fire emblem and loving them both beyond belief i suddenly realized "I love JRPGs!" which is never something that occurred to me since Final Fantasy has never sparked my interest, and that seems to be the pinnacle of JRPGs to most people.

Fuck you need to pick up the Tales series game. My first was tales of symphonia. Great game. Very underrated.
