    Mythic beastlord problem.

Hello, my team killed blackhand and we are progressing on beastlord now. Overall fight its not that hard but we have a small (or big) problem. We have no ranged cleave in team, and because of this we cant kill spears fast enough.

After wiping because of spears we changed tactic and made all ranged to focus on spears, then on boss. But then we started wiping to berserk. Any tips?

    Logs:
    https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...NtWhv2#fight=4

Yes i know we had people dead coming into last phase, but even with everyone alive it would be very hard to kill him in time. And i was checking kills from other people and they usually kill him few min before berserk.

And last question, it is really THAT important to kill those spears? Our raid leader said its priority nr.1, and spears should be dead before next land. Is that true?

The way that my guild has begun taking care of spears is to have the range keep dots on them whenever possible without sacrificing too much boss damage. The main time to focus spears is in between mounted phases right after killing the animals. Only during Faultline do we have all range focus the spears while the boss is mounted. Having a ton of spears up going in to the burn is just unnecessary damage on the raid. If killing in the burn phase is looking like it wont happen, which it's looking really tight for your group, have your team swap to more single target oriented specs, hunters going MM, stuff like that, pack beasts shouldnt be all that difficult to cleave down even with more ST.

Have the priest take Auspicious spirits and cascade. That will fuck up the adds and the spears big time. Cascade is NUTS on that fight since 6.1 and hes still using halo.

With the AS talent he just needs to DoT the spears with SW:P and he can pump spare DP's into them because he should be swimming in orbs.

Uh no it's not a priority to kill the spears and they certainly don't need to die before the next set lands.

What you should do is something like this

1st mount, dot spears and let them go down over time, burst on the mount after he dismounts
    2nd mount, the same
Before he mounts dreadwing nuke down any spears that are up
3rd mount, Dreadwing, take spears down when they spawn
Take Faultline down but save all cd's for last phase, try to nuke down spears before Faultline dies
After Faultline is dead pop hero and cd's, ignore spears and everyone only focus down the boss.

Also about the pack beasts, taking these down should not happen at the cost of dps on the boss, that is you should only have classes such as ele shammies or your fire mages who will not lose any single target dps but will instead gain more boss dps from also nuking the adds. This looks like an aoe fight but it's really the single target dps on the boss and the mounts that will make you win.

For example we had our mages as arcane and most other people spec/talent for single target dps while the ele shammies did the adds and boomies the spears (except when Dreadwing or Faultline were up all range would help with the spears).

Edit: And if you hit a wall on this, go for Oregorger, that was a way easier kill for us at least and the dps requirements for it are nonexistent

I told him that AS with cascade is better here, but he said he tried it and it didnt work. Some people just like to play with wrong talents i think :P

We had two arcane mages just nuke down the spears single target during the faultline phase, shadow priest dots them the rest of the fight. No big deal, faultline can take a bit to die, just start the last phase with no spears up.

Cleave wise we just made everyone single target while our enhancement and elemental shaman aoe'd the pack beasts.

The last thing you want to do is kill spears during the final phase. You need everything on the boss except the specific assigned aoe people to kill the first two waves of pack beasts.

Just killed it last night ourselves, here's a video from ranged pov if it helps https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gu5e7q0aM7k
