Wink How to save social life in WOW?

WOW does not feel as social as before. before you would see tons of ppl in the city doing stuff or just AFK but you know they were out there. Now it's just garrisons. Although i think it's cool idea it would be only a hub for some mats and quests and all the rest would be in a main city like the ones they were supposed to launch but never did. I think it would feel epic to release them with some epic quests to unlock the cities and instead of ashran would have epic pvp world if he need to raid the other faction city in balanced groups.
I hope you guys have some nice ideas.

There hasn't been much social activity on most servers for awhile. Hence the server merging.

Join a Guild to raid or pvp with?

I remember I made a thread a while back suggesting that trade chat/AH should be removed from Garrisons so hat Ashran was more alive and teeming with players instead of being deserted because it's a shit zone.

This is your best option. The smaller the guild the better, usually. Don't join one of those guilds with 25~+ members on not saying anything.

You can save social life in wow by trying to socialise instead of expecting it to happen because people are forced to hang out in the same area. If you are looking for socialising to happen just because there are people who may or may not be afk then you are doing it wrong. If you want to socialise join a guild, do activities together and get to know one another. Even if you bring only 1 person from your guild into a dungeon or raid you will be socialising, just because there is a 'find random group' button doesn't mean you can't use it with one or more people in your guild.

I find that people who bitch about 'no socialising in wow anymore' are the kinds of people that wants socialising forced upon them rather than actually trying to socialise on thier own. It is at its core lazy. Make friends? Who wants to do that? Just force us to socialise, thats so much better.

Just afk in the garrison and troll the chat. It's what we all do, it's the wod end-game.

Well i said social life, like just running around and see other players doing something or nothing to be abble to know you not alone with your npc and followers on your garrison. I think it's kinda strange for a game like wow when in BC and LK the cities were full of live with ppl running doing their stuff and it was really cool.

Socialising is interacting with other people, not watching them go about thier day. I can go to a park and watch everyone socialise with thier kid but in no way am I socialising. Maybe the problem isn't wow or the wow population, maybe the problem is you and how you go about 'socialising'. Hanging out in a park without your own children is a good way to get arrested btw.

Yup, I got my napkin with my raid strategies written down. You have to gauge trade chats mental IQ at the current moment and choose from a list of predetermined troll baits. If they are in a potato mood you can start with something simple like why do they call it a xbox 360? Or if you are feeling risky you can bring up how the immersion in WOD is amazing now that I can alt-tab while on flight paths that they took away flying. Bonus points for sentence fragments and logical fallacies.

That all went away when LFD and LFR came out. Welcome to the modern world. If you want to get that back on track, you remove those. But that will never happen, so there's no choice but to accept the lack of interaction in this MMhandout of a game.

I meant social life, that you would actually see other players! Now ppl just sit in their garrison looking for pugs.
It's sad days for wow IMO.

You can't WoW has been taken over by the socially inept, that aspect of the game is dying more each expansion.

This is complete bullshit. Just because there is a 'find random group' button doesn't mean you can't invite 4 friends to your group before hitting that button. Just bringing 1 person has many advantages, you have 1 person less chance to get a baddie, you have an activity to discuss and shorter queue times if they are a tank/healer. The only difference is you are not forced to socialise anymore and some people don't like socialising unless they have to, you know... sad sacks.

It's not what I do, so "all" is a false statement. But thank you for trying to speak for "all" of us. Parrot.

You obviously have no clue what a social life is.
