Hi there. I want a 4k monitor to go with this build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/XVWCvK
Also, how will this run WoW on Ultra with a 4k monitor in raids? While streaming?

Someone recently asked me about 4k gaming and may recommendation was to get a less insane resolution and get a higher refresh monitor instead as 4k gaming is still a bit rough in places esp with streaming.
I get ~40 fps while raiding in a 25 man setting (high graphics) with the same GPU and a weaker 3.4 ghz variant of the CPU you have in 1440p. I honestly wouldn't even imagine doing 4k, especially in games that aint wow.
4K with a single 970 won't be great.
Alright, won't go 4K then. What type of monitor should I get then?

4k text in windows is so hard to read you wouldn't like it, the proper scaling is just not built in well enough though it is likely windows 10 will be a lot better with this.
You have a few choices on monitors, depending on how much you wanna spend.
144hz monitor:

1440p monitor:

If you do a lot of pvp in WoW and play a good amount of shooters the 144hz panel is the better choice, if you like looking around at scenery and appreciate that i would go with the 1440p monitor.
144hz makes everything seem smoother btw, even just in windows moving things around. There is a monitor coming out that is 144hz and 1440p with an ips screen but that thing is gonna be like 600 or 700 bucks.

Yea 4k is completely....Never gonna happen, with current hardware. Doubt you can even cap 60 FPS with 3 980's inn "Insert high GPU demanding game, that is proboaly an FPS game here"
Maybe hardware manufactours will make it happen before 2017

For wow, in my honest opinion, a great 21:9 monitor is far better then any high hertz screen.
An example of this is

Wow fully supports this aspect ratio and will make your gaming experience hugely more enjoyable, you get more screen real estate and a greater view of the landscape.
If you opted for a 2560x1080 resolution, anything over 29 inch is a good size.

Not with maxed out settings in the latest games, true. But on Medium-High settings, pretty much anything can be played in 4K on a single 980 GTX, at least (and it is just around 15% faster than 970 GTX). The difference between Medium and Ultra in most recent games isn't that mind blowing anyway, and, IMO, an average game with Medium settings at 4K looks way better than with maxed out settings at 1440p.
That said, to really notice and appreciate the difference, you need a huge display. I game at 50" TV, and that is pretty much the optimum for me, as I sit as close to it as I normally would with a regular monitor - 4K on 50" is almost the same pixel density as 1080p on 24", pretty much industry standard. On a regular 27" monitor, indeed, 4K doesn't make much sense.
Well if you are willing to spend money on a 4k monitor, you might as well just get the Asus ROG swift. 1440P with 144HZ refresh rate, also comes with G-Sync. Best gaming monitor on the market imo.
