BlizzCon: Going alone as European?

Hi all

Not sure if this is the right place to post but BlizzCon site forum seems really dead so trying my luck here.

Having been a Blizzard fanboy for many years, it's always been a dream of mine to go to BlizzCon. This year I'm seriously contemplating it, even though I most likely won't be able to even get tickets (since they always sell out so fast). But before I decide to even try, I have another thing to consider. I live in Denmark, and besides paying ~500€ for flight tickets, I'll most likely be going alone. So for that reason, I want to ask others who have tried something similar.

1. Are there any Europeans who attended BlizzCon without any friends? What did you think of it?
2. What is the atmosphere like at the event?
3. How easy is it to meet new people to hang out with during the event?
4. Was it worth the money (hotel + flight + attendance)?

I am asking a bit blindly but hope someone can give me some tips and help me choose
