Or is that just a suggested thing? I've been seeing people (mostly in general off topic) making threads that are literally nothing but a title, link, blurb of quote from the articl, with no opinion, no point of discussion, nothing.

I distinctly remember seeing a mod say that that type of thread was heavily frowned upon because it is a terrible start for a discussion, I can't seem to find the post that says that right now. Search function is wonky on the phone :P

I wouldn't even care if it was just a sometimes thing, but it's going on every single day where their is no discussion, other than the title.

Although it's much nicer if posters put content besides a in the OP for people, it isn't a site requirement.
