    RAF + WoW Token?

So I just realised something, and I want to know if other people can verify / agree, etc.

So. Say you create an account and buy the basic WoW pack for a Recruit a Friend account. Instead of buying game time, you send gold and buy a WoW Token from the Auction House for a few months of game time, in which will grant you the RAF mounts. Would this technically work?

I can't be 100% sure about this, but I think it should work. There should be no difference between paying for a month of game time and using a token AFAICS.

There was a blue post recently that said the token will work with RAF

@WarcraftDevs If RAF recruit uses token to pay for subscription, does it count for reward the same as prepaid card/subscription?

Any form of game time counts toward rewards for the Recruit A Friend system.

Directly from the "Updates from @WarcraftDevs - Patch 6.1" blue thread.

You do realize a month of game time is 15 bucks and the token costs 20 bucks.
Why would you spend 5 more dollars plus whatever gold it costs versus just paying 15 bucks?

No, no, no. He's not going to buy any tokens with cash. He is saying that he is going to send some gold to his other account. Then with that gold he'll buy some tokens. That way he can refer a friend himself and not pay any money.

    Yeah exactly.

Don't you get a free month aswell if the RAF account buys two? So basically you'd have to "waste" only one token for a month of gametime and a mount.

My mountains of gold can help me to get the rest of the RaF rewards without breaking my cash gaming budget, we are going to see a lot more RaF mounts around.

That would be really nice. I'm not completely up to date on the whole RAF thing. :P

So essentially this will cost you:-
One Basic Battlechest (which is conveniently on sale at the moment)
Two game time tokens (bought for around 60k gold)
In return your main account will receive:-
    Recruit a Friend Mount
    1 Free Month Gametime
+xp bonus if you can be bothered to level any alts.

Stupid question, can you RAF a new WoW account on your own battle.net account? Would be good to have my heirloom on my self RAF account.

So basically, you can get any of the RAF mounts for 30kish?

That's not a bad deal, at all.

Buy two tokens, get mount + month of game time on main account. Might be worth doing several RAF accounts just to get the mounts.

You cannot send 30k to a completely different account, you would get locked down instantly.

Just WoW, which is currently on sale for 9.99.

Also, I've sent that much to alt accounts many times. Especially when they're under the same battle.net account, which I'd assume you would want them to be.

Is RAF even allowed to be used within the same account? Seems odd, considering the account can only be owned by 1 person, and the F in RAF stands for 'friend'.

    Yeah, been done for years.

I've RAF'd two accounts on my same Bnet account in the past. Blizzard even has blue posts saying it's cool.

Best part of them being on the same Bnet account is that you can access all your looms & mounts.
