Poll: Which Plausible Event Would You Be Looking Forward To?

Be advised that this is a public poll: other users can see the choice(s) you selected.

What Scenario would you most be excited for in the Future?

Personally, I don't know. I didn't include zombie apocalypse because that is rather unlikely (even given some poll options). However, I must ask out of all the scenarios in the future, what would be the thing you would be looking for the most. These are just some likely events, some of these are happening right now, while others are unlikely, but completely plausible.

Advanced robotics requires AI, does it not?

Functional immortality. It's only a matter of time before we figure out how to prevent aging.
ill probably be infracted for this post

The socialist dream; A society void of money where people get essentials for free and work with things that interest them. This would probably fall under advanced robotics/AI as everything would need to be fully automated and autonomous.

Deextinction is probably the most lame thing I think given the competion.

    Probably Computing Power.

i notice that delayed aging/immortality isn't in there so i won't vote for any of them.

With transhumanism the rest would follow.

The Culture society as dreamed up by Iain M Banks is where I would like to live. Preferably on one of those eccentric AI spaceships drifting about the universe doing whatever it pleases.

I voted De-extinction simply because I love biology, and would love to see some of the previously dead species brought back. Since a zoo would most likely be the only place to see them in that scenario, it would not be ideal, but I would like to know what a T-Rex was really like. Maybe we could 'seed' a planet then travel to that 'time vortex' planet (forget the real name for this) from the movie 'Interstellar' and bounce between the two planets every few years. Obviously everyone else not traveling to the time vortex planet would be long gone, but you could experience evolution. I also realize that things would not evolve the same on the new planet as they did on earth, but that would be the fun of it.

Immortalism is one of the many philosophies within transhumanism.

I voted for all but the intelligence ones. We'd essentially be creating our own competition. We can't even handle our own species right now, it wouldn't go well. Still cool though.

Not if we leave them on a large island to create their own culture and society...

We can certainly achieve those goals by plugging into the Matrix. But it wouldn't be socialism. Socialism is an economic model. Economic models require scarcity. There wouldn't be scarcity.

Transhumanism will use AI to upgrade ourselves when possible, GMO when possible, perhaps engineering genes to be more resistant to some kinds of diseases for example, advanced robotics, there will be many benefits to this, such as replacement limbs which look indistinguishable from our real ones, but stronger, durable, and self healing.

De-extinction, we caused countless species to go extinct, thankfully, we stored their genes in protected vaults. For extinct animals and plants we have not found, we may eventually find them, since the half life of DNA is over 500 or so years, we will have quite a bit of time to find any animal we caused to be extinct back.

AI, well aside from merging with AI technology to become more intelligent, creating utopian virtual civilization of planets, cities, towns, and villages of AI individuals, the realm will be free from suffering and pain, they will have access to the web to experience other simulations as they please. This would be something I look forward to. Idea inspired by "Do we live in a simulation?".
