solace w/ 2 piece IF you cant offensive penance?

Hello everyone,
Ive had mindbender and 2 pc since 6.1 came out. I mostly use mindbender during hero/PI/trinket procs and Im very happy with my mana and don't have any issues. My question is regarding how solace ties into evangelism/archangel:

On fights where I find myself needing to use penance defensively on CD and end up having to holy fire (and very rarely smite) for evangelism because I cant use penance offensively, am I better off taking solace? At how many casts of holy fire would solace overtake mindbender (if ever)?

For reference Im working on 7/10M right now and run with 1.1k spi + mythic chewtoy/goren repository on most fights.

MB is going to be a +hps over solace if you use HF less than 6 times a minute pretty much. If you can keep your mana in check with MB there's no real need to switch to solace (even though I'm again promote my own post where I suggest dropping spirit in jewelry might be better than taking MB: http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/...1#post32828635)

I've read those 2 threads before. I think I've ready every single post on these forums regarding holy or disc but I'm just dreadful at maths =( So I didn't know how to calculate what mp5 solace would have with the # of times I use Holy Fire instead of using it on every CD for 2480 mp5 like Red's chart states. But I -think- I understand it now, going to try my noob hand at some calculations. Thank you much

If you find yourself *needing* to defensive Penance(i.e., low overheal defensive Penance) on cd, then yes, Solace is the better choice in the tier.

However, that also means your throughput healers aren't pulling their weight if you can consistently channel a very large ~2.5 second cast heal without the target getting healed during the channel - they probably need to work on their triage healing.
