Working with the public. I work at a hotel, someone complains that we don't have room service. It's okay for me to say "I'm sorry, room service is just not something offered at this hotel" even though I'm not actually sorry, I really don't give a fuck, if room service was important to you you should have checked before you booked, or stayed at a luxury hotel not a business hotel.
there is no situation in which a lie is acceptable.
arrogance, narcissism, judgmental mentalities, justification, rationalization...thinking that you know better than someone, or what's best for them, just a few terms to describe the machinations of a lie.
