Many things need to be addressed here:
1)The climate changes. This conversion is based on the misnomer. It's artificial or human driven climate change.

2) Depending on the interval you choose you will get a positive or negative sloped average line.

3) From the formation of the earth compared to now the temperature has decreased significantly. And from recent warming events we haven't reached anywhere near those maximum temperatures.

4) I don't disagree that humans are the cause. It's that we are hastening the inevitable.

Rate of Change is a key idea, 7.3 Billion (and growing) humans is another.

And Really, for purposes of climate change - looking at the temperatures in the Cambrian or Permian is meaningless because humans have never seen temperatures like that. Disrupting the climate that allowed us to thrive is the problem here, not that it was warm in the Eocene.
