Felipe Massa has been disqualified from the Brazilian GP as a result of too high temperature in his tyres before the start of the race. Unlike Lewis Hamilton who's tyres were BELOW the required minimum PSI to start the race in Italy, and who was not penalised. Hamilton got away with it and it seems to me like harking back to the days of when Schumacher got away with everything but no one else did.

I would also imagine that the race stewards will have needed heavy disguises to get out of Interlagos alive.

Low tire pressure doesn't give you a competitive advantage. It reduces acceleration, increases rolling resistance, decreases fuel economy, increases wear at the sidewall.

If you only reduce the pressure slightly (a couple of tenths of a PSI) you get a larger contact surface with the road, giving you more grip. It also gives you more of a headroom when running the tyre on its ragged edge (for example sliding around while chasing your team-mate's dirty air)

Didn't catch the race. Did Massa finish in the points?

Edit:- Turns out he was 8th. Well at least it's not that big of points loss.
