Problems in the oven (Hr B Furnace)

    Hi,

So my guild is having some trouble in Blast Furnace, heroic mode. Questions have been raised over if it is a tank issue (is he taking more damage as he should?) or healer issue (are they not healing him enough?) or DPS issue (are adds been taking care of?)... so, instead of pointing fingersm i wanted to see your opinions over what is going wrong.

We managed to get to Phase 3, but where not really prepared... we are having trouble in the transition phases and in phase 2.

Are we taking too long in phase 1?

Here is a log of the fights: www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/1ANMLQcCKGm9dY3v

    thanks a lot!

You are staying waaaay too long in P1. You have 54 heat gained before transitioning.

Your furnace engineers got their heal off three times. I'm too tired to fully analyze it, but you also have 36 bomb casts, but only 26 dealt damage (if I understand it correctly).

The problem is raid execution in general.

Theres a LOT of threads about so I'm not going to rehash everything. But for starters:
    1) Phase one is lasting too long. Either repairs are going off or people are not picking up bombs. A fast phase one sets you up for an easier fight.
    2) At the end of phase one try to transition with bellows operators dead or very low. Tanks need a LOT of love here since the damage on them can be extreme.
    3) Your highest dps (fire mage) is 12th on the primal elementalists. People need to hit the right shit and the right time. That kind of parse just screams "padding scumbag". Hes really not helping make the kill happen. Same with bellows operators. 70k total is worth jack shit if you're doing a quarter of that on targets that matter.
    4) After each elementalist you need to "clean up" firecallers / guards. On wipe 6 the tank died because he was tanking 4 guards. Thats too many (two too many imo!)
    5) Primal elementalists are healing a TON https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...ng&hostility=1 (for example) Offensive dispels from a priest or shammy are needed.

This fight is like a house of cards. It chains out of control if you don't do the little things right. People need to focus on executing all elements well.

P1 - Bellows > Engi > Security guard: Pick up bags of bombs and only destroy the bellows with operators dead or low. Drag to starting point and clean up (kill Feldspar and extra guards engineers)
P2 Kill elemental on elementalist.. BURN the elementalist dispelling the heal. Spread for volatile fire. Clean up after each elementalist (firecallers first then guards) Rinse repeat
P3 - Drag boss to edge, kill remaining guards and firecallers as TOP prio (ignore elementals) Take puddles of shit to edge of room. Raid CD's for raid dmg. Collect loot!

    1) So we should be stalling on bombs in order to kill bellow operators? because weve had some terrble timings. and that leads directlly into a problem with 2...
    2) So, what if they just spawn, should we stall or kill?
    3) So, basically, focus fire, right? the thing is that we are also trying to clear the other adds, like teh sec guards and feldspar on phase 1.
    4) We are working on that, and you can see we improoved on other attempts, but it is noticed.
    5) Focus on killing/dispelling basically.

Thanks a LOT for your imput

TO answer your follow up questions for Deja...

Should ideally be pushing to phase 2 after the second operators die. It's not the end of the world if you push with them up, but it's much more brutal for the tanks. Do not stall on bombs. If you bomb aggressively, you should push with the second operators dead or dying.

Feldspar is last priority target in p1, if your players are out of other things to kill. He can die at beginning of phase 2. All about speed in phase 1.

Just to reiterate, elementalist burst damage is all that matters in phase 2. Can mop up adds in between as described above, but everyone should be speccing and playing to burst down elementalists in 1 shield.

Get callers and guards down asap when p3 starts and coast to victory! Good luck!

    thanks a lot!

Yeah, maybe focusing in Feldspar so much isnt a good idea, we had him at 40% when second operator comes down

Have 1 person focusing Feldspar for interrupts and the rest on operators. When Operators die go on Feldspar and cleave onto the adds. People also need to actually drop the bombs so you can get out the phase much faster.

Im already gonna say that working on P2 and bursting the elementalitst is gonna be the next challenge, we even had to have some people change from AOE specs to single target to get them down.

Our raid group is able to get out of phase 1 in a little over a minute by using Mind Control on the engineers, since we have 2 priests. Someone stands near the doors and the mind-controlled engineer tosses their bombs to that person, while the Bellows Operator gets killed. Once he breaks out, nuke him down and run the bombs that drop from the bag. Rinse and repeat on the second one, just make sure that the Bellows Operator is dead before fully destroying the door.

Fast, no repairs, and minimal adds and heat when phase 2 starts.

The main problems is that DPSs are just AoEing everything instead of focusing the priority targets. Tell everyone to spec for their best single target damage and to follow the priorities, and you will kill it in no time.

    We just killed him yesterday!

we focused a lot more the dps and managed to kill elementalists in 1 shield... Got some problems at P3, but we handle it pretty fine.

Thanks a lot for everyone for your help!

here is a puppy image as a reward :P
