Question PvP questions for a rogue

Hey everyone, I recently switched my main from my Deathknight to a rogue.

It's been a great change of pace for me in the game and has gotten me back into playing a lot once more. I'm not new to the rogue persay, just new to WoD rogues. I got my CMs sets both xpacs and I'm not a poor player. Just looking for guidance from some experienced rogue vets.

    So question time.
    1. I Spec Subtlety and Combat for PvE. Which of these specs should I pursue for PvP?
    2. I see a resounding number of combat rogues in PvP. Is Subtlety bad? Or high skilcap? If it's a higher skill cap does this mean it has higher potential too, like it does in PvE?
    3. As stupid as this may sound. What role should a rogue in pvp scenarios be filling? Pure Damage? Pure Control? Harassment? Whats our Niche?
    4. Do stat priorities change much in PvP from PvE? EG. Is Haste/Multi still a favourite for combat or does this change?
    5. Which classes best compliment a rogue's playstyle? I hear Combat has more options than a sub rogue. Does Spec really play into it?
    6. Finally.... What advantages does one spec have over the other? Eg. Is combat's burst window higher? Sub has a higher controlled burst, survival options?
    7. Anything to say about assassination in both PvE/PvP I never see them so I haven't bothered learning them.

Thanks in advance Sorry for any spelling mistakes.

For as much as it pains me to say this:

    1. Combat for PvP. (though assassination is really fun and easy in the lower level arena bracket/rbgs and even BGs)
    2. Sub 4pc blows. Reason combat is represented so much is because they have the 4pc that allows then to vanish and get full 5 cp's, red buff + kidney + bomb+ killing spree = gg at <50% hp.
    3. It's a bit of all of it tbh.
    4. Mastery everything if you can. Boots and helm are versatility/mastery as it's BiS.
    5. RMD (Rogue/Mage/Rdruid) So much pressure
    6. Combat burst and control is too good to that of sub.
    7. I LOVE assassination. I easily top dmg charts in bgs with it. It's so fun to play. Arena though no so much at higher brackets (1750+)

Which is better for wpvp and duels between combat and assassination. I hear dks will beat you no matter what?

Personally id prefer assassination for wpvp and duels. If you know what youre doing, you can beat a DK.

I've been pulled into Combat's direction for both due to drops and such, but with the new patch notes its looking like Sub might be the new way to play for PvP and PvE now.

Any thoughts on how the recent patch notes will change any of the questions previously asked? Thanks for your responses btw. They've been very helpful.
