Just because it's a law doesn't mean the consequences have to be harsh. Jaywalking is illegal. Connecting to an unsecured wifi is illegal. Doesn't mean you need the book thrown at you. This kind of mentality is archaic and stupid. Meanwhile there are people that cause harm to society and other people that find loopholes around laws. Cry me a river.

Yeah because I'm sure he'll never drink booze!
When the police show up at your house trying to get in and you tell them to get a warrant, you bet your ass they're gonna come back with a warrant. She had 3 hours to get rid of anything she had in the house. What the fuck was she doing, sitting around getting high?
This kind of bothers me because just yesterday my friend was in a similar situation. He had drugs at school and in one class some kid who he sold the drugs to got sent to the deans for being obviously fucked up. He was in that class and saw it go down, he knew exactly what was up, and 5 minutes later you bet he got a pass to go down to the deans. They didn't even come down to personally escort him like they usually would. So what does he do? If you guessed 'stopped at the bathroom and flushed whatever he had on him', you would be very wrong. Nope, he fucked up the last chance he had, walked into that office with a pocket full of drugs, spent the night in county and got expelled.
Live and learn.
I'm not entirely convinced I could tell you. All I know is that I need someone at some point in my life to stick their finger up my arse and check, and that it had no impact on me knowing to put on a condom when needed either when I was 15 nor today that I'm 21. I was never taught that the best way to avoid pregnancy was to not have sex (well, I was, but that was rapidly followed with "but that's entirely impractical and not going to happen so do this instead")

Can you imagine, cannabis? He might inject a whole weed.
Dont know about that being the answer but that is my answer.
The child is being exposed to illegal drugs. Is you answer to let a child grow in a house full of illegal substances?
sure whatever.. they can talk about alcohol and tobacco... not that it matters.. thats not the problem. those are not illegal there.
The war on drugs seizing important enemy's assets and making sure no children is harmed with the addiction of knowledge.
We had a video in primary school when we were.. 10, maybe? 11 perhaps at most. Then a brief thing maybe 2 or 3 times during secondary school during this thing that would occur maybe once a term called "Life Skills" which would be off timetable stuff which was basically like "woo no class". One time we had this teacher who had to show us a video where they made lots of awful puns about balls, so he turned it off after 5minutes, told us not to be idiots, and we went to lunch early. Then like a year later a different but similar teacher who laughed a lot (great guy, my chemistry teacher, my favourite teacher) who jokingly said "IF YOU HAVE SEX YOU WILL GET AIDS AND DIE" as that was what he was taught, then just told us not to be idiots and use condoms, and then we went to lunch early.
Early lunch is good.
How to be a moron, a guide by DEATHETERNAL:
Step 1: Have illegally obtained, controlled substances in your home.
Step 2: Talk about how beneficial and useful said illegally obtained, controlled substances are.
Step 3: Have said illegally obtained, controlled substances be discovered in your home by a legally conducted search.
Step 4: Suffer the consequences of being a moron.
I hope this has helped you, the reader, understand how to properly be a moron and achieve the destruction of your life through your own stupidity.
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him.

The "law and order outweighs justice" crowd is strong in this thread.
So, in Georgia our Governor just signed into law a very limited use for medical marijuana, like only 12 things, and some only for children. So what would happen here if this same kid had done this same thing, only what his mom was using the oil for wasn't one of those 12 things? I think medical use should be national, period. I think states should decided on recreational. Maybe something between California's " I got a hangnail, I need a scrip", and Georgia's very limited use. Probably closer to Cali than Georgia, though.
Hey, on the bright side: if he's removed from his mother's custody because of marijuana, he could always end up beaten to death by his foster mother. So there's always a silver lining!

Tampering with evidence is a felony, perhaps even a more serious one than being found in possession of the cannabis oil. Surely you aren't advocating breaking the law?
Of course, why should I expect anything other than hypocrisy?
And standard procedure in such a raid is to cut off the water to the house so you can't flush the toilet or get rid of any evidence.
Police questioning a minor without the parents permission or knowledge and then getting a warrant based on that illegal interrogation is obviously of no concern to anyone who cares about the law.
