Specific Positioning Issues for P2 H Blackhand

This will be our 3rd week on Heroic Blackhand. That's only 34 pulls for us since our raids aren't incredibly long, but still it would be nice to see some more P3 action this week.

We are struggling with positioning in P2. It's not our only issue, but it seems to be the main one.

Our TL;DR strategy is to create a "box" of marks - SE, SW, NW, NE.

When we drop from P1, we let Blackhand drop bombs in the center and then move him to the SE mark where Balcony team gets smashed up to East Balcony.

Then we kite from SE --> SW leaving one set of bombs in between. Balcony team gets smashed to West Balcony.

Then kite SW --> NW, turning at the NW mark so smash goes to East Balcony.

We go on like this around the square, but things start to fall apart by the 3rd Balcony or so.

Our Impale strategy is Siegemaker-Siegemaker-Tank Soak as seems to be the standard. It is "kind of" working. Better this week, as we didn't have any early Siegemaker deaths, but we still seem to be impaling DPS on a regular basis and I'm not sure if our position is to blame, or our DPS need to be a little more lightfooted.

We are struggling with slag bombs. Our kiter wants to use them, but they are debuffing our ranged when he kites over them. Sometimes they are too close to the boss.

Any specific tips for kiting and positioning in phase 2 so we can get to the balconies efficiently, clear out the slag bombs and kite the Siegemakers effectively.

Are there any strategies which involve ignoring the bombs entirely and just using the impales to kill the Siegemaker?

Here are our logs from last WED:

To be honest at this stage its just personal responsibility that will get you further. https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...ability=156743

Thats a completely ridiculous amount of impales landing on non tanks. Have someone call out 10 seconds before marked for death happens so people can look where the siege is and adjust accordingly. Here you want to stop incidences of "marked for death on xxx" where that persons response is "oh fuck" because they were as far from the siege as its possible to get.

It's exactly the same with the slagged debuff. https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...ability=156047
If you kite the boss from corner to corner and the ranged are somewhat central it can't be possible for healers and ranged dps to eat slagged debuffs 24/7. Their positioning is bad. The only possible excuse is they skirt the back of a siege tank as it goes over a bomb, that can slag them. The solution to this is to move earlier so they can circle it better.

To be honest you just need face time with the boss. You might also want to direct your raiders to this: http://iam.yellingontheinternet.com/...acticed-skill/ (I'm not taking a stab, it's genuinely helpful and lets people think about fights in a different way.)

There is not much you can do as a RL, it all comes down to the player with the mark. We had quite a struggle on p2 aswell, but after everyone fucked up once or twice then it all went relatively smooth and we consistently got to p3

It all goes down to have enough wipes for everyone to get accustomed to the raid, and since everyone is different they all take different time for that and well sometimes you need to replace some people or remove them since they fail all the time but then after enough wipes and ironing out who's raider and who's BAD material you will get it.

My problem (as RL) is that right now people are looking to blame the positioning and movement for the excess Impales and Slags.

I'm sure many of them come down to personal responsibility, but of course I want to do all I can to help people out.

    Thinking of trying this tonight:

It's pretty standard that people get impaled because their positioning is shit. It's a common occurrence that especially the dps (healers tend to generally position themselves centrally to have everyone in range) just stay put and tunnel the boss, instead of trying to be centrally. So what often happens is that ranged dps (especially those who go to the balcony if you send any) tend to forget to adjust their position and stay close to the boss, so when they get the 1st marked for death, they are usually on the opposite site of the siegemaker and don't make it in time. Stress that to all your dpsers.

In regards with the bombs and the kiting, what we generally do is move BH in a circular manner (similar to P1) and try to kite the siegemakers on his trail (where he's left the bombs). The tanks will have to keep an eye on the siegemaker though so that they adjust their positioning instead of having it go "over" the melee. If ranged people/healers are getting slagged that's because they stood too close to the siegemaker. Its radius is pretty small so it's easily avoidable.
