Thread: Life After WoD?

    Life After WoD?

With every bit of information we've been given up to date, the question isn't whether or not Warlords will end after 6.2, the true question everyone should be asking themselves is what will come after this expansion's inevitable end?

I for one am happy to see the Burning Legion show up more in the up and coming Hellfire Citadel raid, but with most of the key players dead, and Archimonde being the final boss, what's to come now besides killing off Gul'dan?
Speaking of Gul'dan, I'm sure we'll take him down soon enough at the end of our legendary questline.
Maybe we'll see another patch, 6.3 could be filler content until 2016's expansion comes out, whatever that may be.
I just don't want to be farming Hellfire for a year and a half the same way we did with Siege of Orgrimmar, I don't want Archimonde to turn into the next Garrosh.
However, take into account that we were told by Blizzard early on that Grommosh would in fact be the final boss of this expansion, where's he in Hellfire? Is he going to take part in the end questline? Has the great Grommash Hellscream been turned into little more than a petty end of expansion content questline boss? Hopefully we haven't been lied to. The interview where Tom Chilton is on youtube, I can't post links at the moment, but if you need proof it's right there. Simply search "Warlords of Draenor: Final boss revealed".

I have no idea what we could see for our next expansion, I hope it's longer and a little more creative than Warlords, while still keeping the core WoW values prevalent in the game, what are your thoughts on this?
Leave a comment below and let's discuss!

I'm guessing either the other continent on Draenor (The one south of Nagrand) or the South Seas with Azshara. Both of these places seem like good points for Gul'dan to escape to, assuming Blizzard uses him as the connecting character ala Garrosh from MoP to WoD.

If they do the other Draenor continent, Blizzard could build on the Ogres with a Byzantine Empire equivalent paralleling the Gorian Empire's similarities to Rome, the Apexis Arrakoa civilization, the origin of the Primal and Breaker conflict, Farahlon (If it doesn't wind up being 6.3 content) and the Void and Cho'gall's mysterious master.

If they do the South Seas, Gul'dan could head to the Tomb of Sargeras as Azshara raises Naz'jatar from the ocean floor and we could see the ruins of Kezan along with Undermine, Plunder Isle, Zandalar, Kul'Tiras, Tel Abim, and the dreaded sunken city of Ny'alotha with N'Zoth.

There's also the chance of something else, like the planet of Argus, a continent in the Veiled and Forbidding Seas on Azeroth, an underground Northrend expansion expanding on the corpse of Yogg-Saron, Bolvar as the Lich King, and the Nerubians or their predecessors, the Aqir, or, albeit the least likely in my mind, the Emerald Dream.

I wanted Burning Legion. Not a fake alternate universe Burning Legion.

I know is unlikely but I would like to see an Azshara Themed Expansion Featuring Nzoth, Neptulon, Plunder Isle, Kul'tiras etc....

I would like to see this as well just because I want to see how they do a water expansion without water since everyone hated Vashj'ir.

Definitely not Burning Legion and not Orcs, we have had more than enough of them in BC and MoP.

I think WoD was an excuse to give everyone a Burning Legion fix before Blizzard was ready to move on with the MU Burning Legion story. We can kill AU Legion characters without impacting MU ones like Kil'jaden and Mal'ganis.

Who knows what the next expansion will feature, Pandaria and AU Draenor were way out of left field. Maybe some of the more frequently suggested expansion possibilities, like Azshara or the Emerald Dream.

All of this sounds mighty interesting would definitely have me logging back on

Personally? I'm done with WoW. Tired of paying so much money for a game I now consistently struggle to keep interest in.

I'll probably keep tabs on it. Read the books and be the lore hound that I often am. However, I've officially gone exclusively B2P. My MMOs of choice are ESO, GW2, and TSW. If I was to even bother going back to subscription(which is just a massive ripoff all details considered) it'd be FFXIV anyway.

So for me, there is really no future it would seem. Tired of being strung along through mundane content after mundane content to siphon as much money out of as they can. The only good stuff is usually barred off because let's face it, guilds aren't exactly the best to deal with more often than not and even when they are, barely manage to get anywhere worth mentioning.

Shame really. If I was to hazard a guess as to where the game is going? Likely the continent south of Draenor as mentioned by another before me.

6.3 and 6-7 months of tier, with stuff added to previous patches (including flying in 6.2) that makes grinding for shit obsolete. Maybe I'll finally get an exalted rep?
Otherwise it's goodbye WoW for good.

One thing I'm curious about is will Blizzard change/nerf anything our current garrison has to offer when the new expansion hits?

I mean, what's stopping us from constantly hearthing back to our garrison and sending our followers out on endless gold missions from now till the servers shut down? Will we still get tons of salvage we can rummage through and vendor for decent coin? will we be able to make an entire army of +gold guys and constantly get a couple grand every 8+ hours? Will we be able to continue the naval missions and keep collecting whatever that might bring? What's stopping us from using our own Auction House we built in our own garrison instead of Stormwind/another capital city? What about still using our own bank/transmog/void storage/guildbank there? Will We have still have access to the ashran zone (which means city portals just next door to our garrison) ect, ect, ect...

Hopefully they'll leave the garrison buildings alone.
I can see them nerfing the amount of gold gotten from missions by making those rare and salvaged items only containing one item instead of three. But to just completely cut off the use of the garrison buildings wouldn't make sense. Especially since they made no changes to how Sunsong Ranch works when we left MoP.

I want to say Azshara & the seas of Azeroth, but Blizz can go in any direction. WoD itself was completely random. The closest speculation I saw people theorize about was an expansion based on Infinite Dragonflight and their timeline shenanigans. I do hope the naval stuff of 6.2 is indicative of what's to come.
Now you see it. Now you don't.

    But was where Dalaran?

Um, we didn't see much of the Burning Legion in TBC. There was the sunwell, sure, but most of TBC was based on fighting Illidan and the Illidari forces that had a hold of Outland.
For the Alliance, and for Azeroth!

Cus something is there to bring the demons back.

What is that thing? /shrug How should we know.... Metzen hasn't retconned the MacGuffin yet. :P

But, seriously, the re-spun the whole Orc Legacy of Warcraft 1-2.... and it's rather expected for him (metzen) to continue doing that.
