Yawn. Dragon Ball was a cliche ridden Shonen that only succeeded because it was everyone's first anime. I've never been able to watch it a 2nd time even through the aid of nostalgia. Toriyama is a fantastic character designer, but a mediocre storyteller.

Lol, agreed. Nowadays, animes have evolved a bit from the whole, "main character overpowered no one else matters" bit, but since it's the original creator handling this new Dragon Ball, he'll probably stick to the essence of what made the show successful.

Goku will costar in his new adventures will Thrall. Metzen will do the voice (even in Japanese) for all new characters. Also, everybody is an orc now.

My first anime series was Ranma 1/2 back in the 80's. I didn't end up watching DBZ until I was in my 20's. We never had cable, and the internet was only like 5 years in when it comes to it being regular at peoples houses.

If there was never a Ranma, there would never be a DBZ.

Please be like the original Dragonball and DBZ. GT and most movies sucked ass, especially the last one where he turns into a God.

I mean DBZ is far from the greatest anime, but it did have a charm of just simply beating the shit out of bad guys with little or no plots. It's fun and relaxing to just see good guys fighting a good cause without some deep story line. I also hope they go back to the original anime style just more polished and HD.

This is what I want from a new Dragon Ball anime, the style is 100% the same, it's just more detailed and more colourfull in comparison to the weird style they used in the second video.



This movie kept the same style more or less but the colouring is terrible, everything looks so bland.

I thought the original series was a great adventure/martial arts series. Didn't really care for it when it turned into a super hero series and lost the sense of adventure the first series had.
