If you could retcon one thing, what would it be?

It can be anything - anything you think would had driven the story in a better direction (even at the cost of game play)

For me there are a couple:

- Blood Elves should had joined Alliance
- Paladins should had remained Alliance/ Shamans remained Horde
- Sylvanas should had supported Grand Apothecary Putress durign the Battle of Undercity, effectively creating a de facto third mini faction

Kael'thas' betrayal. Imagine how awesome it would be to have Kael put that bitch Jaina in her place as a champion of the Horde! With Medihv off doing stuff somewhere he would be the most powerful mage had he not died in Magister's Terrace, much more powerful than Jaina. With him the purge could have been prevented, and Alliance/Horde relations would not have degraded to war. Garrosh have been stopped BEFORE he screwed things up, and the Iron Horde never would have been created to invade Azeroth. All thanks to good ole Prince Sunstrider

Kael'thas doesn't go crazy and remains the blood elf racial leader; this leads to good drama possibilities regardless of which faction the BEs join.

Garrosh goes down the road not taken and grows into a firm, but fair, and ultimately well-intentioned Warchief instead of the uninspired despot they swerved at us in MoP. The Horde in general borrow more from WC3 and aren't the belligerent instigators nine out of ten times faction conflict arises. Let's be fair and make it 50:50.

Similarly, night elves retain more of their flavour and independence and aren't hamstrung by homogenization and neutrality.

Sorry WB, I don't want butt'jin as a warchief, but I didn't want garrosh either.
Now a warchief like durotan, thats something else. He's the real mark of an orcish leader. Smart, decisive, active, works with the alliance when he has to, and doesn't go seeking trouble.

Seeing how durotan was across the draenor storyline, and then in the 11th hour seeing how vol'jin has just jumped into the fray, commanding the horde to attack the alliance without provocation, I just think about the cinematic with Yrel and Durotan when she says "Together" and cleaves blackhand with durotans axe.

I'll think about that scene and that moment, when i'm forced to do any of vol'jins bullshit when 6.2 comes.

Magni Bronzebeard's "death" and the whole Council of the Three Hammers thing that happened as a result.

A couple of other thoughts:

- Cairne's death, or at least Magatha's involvement in it. I'd really like to see how that fight would've gone if not for her interference. Hard to say. Even Garrosh himself admitted that he felt robbed of an honorable kill and would never know if he could've won fairly (which is saying a lot, considering his usual "I AM TEH GREATEST" attitude).

- Post-Cataclysm Thrall. I liked him before that. Warchief Thrall was cool. "I have a greater duty to Azeroth now" Thrall is not cool.

- Most of BC. I think Kael'thas Sunstrider and Lady Vashj got screwed. I really didn't like the "insanity" route that Kael had to go.
