Where is all the news uproar about this? If this was in more western country it'd be all over the news.

Pretty much. We can't be having uproar about all the shit that goes on in the world, there's not nearly enough hours in the day.

Yeah, don't get a lot of news from Eastern Europe.

But it's right next to Greece... strikes me as odd that terrorist acts in a country neighbouring the EU isn't given more attention.

It's one of the headlines on the BBC, not sure what else you expect considering it is a recent story.

    Fox News covered it

    5-police-killed-in-clash-with-armed-group-in-macedonia/

KUMANOVO, Macedonia – An armed group attacked special forces police Saturday in a town in northern Macedonia in a clash that killed five police officers and injured more than 30, officials said, amid a political crisis that has raised concern about the stability of the Balkan nation.

Interior minister Gordana Jankulovska told reporters late Saturday that the police casualties occurred during a sweep operation in Diva Naselba, a neighborhood in western Kumanovo. Police had come under attack from automatic guns and bombs.

A weeping Jankulovska described the five slain police officers as "heroes who gave their lives today for the Republic of Macedonia."

She added that the "terrorist group," which had entered Macedonia from an unspecified neighboring country, planned to "use the current political situation to perform attacks on state institutions."

Jankulovska said more than 20 members of the armed group had surrendered, but added that the police operation is still ongoing because other attackers have refused to give up.

Jankulovska said some of the attackers had been killed, without specifying the number. She was not able immediately able to confirm whether there were any civilian casualties.

Right next to Greece but in one of the "unstable" places of Europe. The Serbia/Kosovo/Macedonia border is not really somewhere you'd like to be. There's still a strong NATO force around there since Kosovo war.
    Oh, hi.

Yet the West doesn't hate Czechs, Slovaks, Croatians, Poles, Slovenians, Ukrainians etc.

There are a number of reasons why there's only limited attention being paid.

1, Most important. Most people can barely point at Macedonia on a map. It's a tiny country of 2 million inhabited by Macedonians and Albanians. It's not an EU member and it won't be in the foreseeable future due to it being piss poor.

2, It's the Balkans. As far as the rest of the world knows, this is like any other Tuesday in the Balkans.

3, It's an internal political pissing contest between the current government and the opposition. We barely know what's the difference anyways.

4, What are we supposed to do? Send in the Marines? Deploy NATO? Ask the Russians to annex Macedonia? How exactly are we supposed to react? We wait and see.

It's easy, you tell those Albanians to drop their greater albania project, and not just tell them, threaten with cuts to aid n monies if they don't listen. Albanians is the last group in Balkans that actively pushes for a 'greater' country, the rest have basically given that up for now.

Albanian PM's statement is "attack on peace"

    TANJUG
    POLITICS | APRIL 7, 2015 | 13:53

BELGRADE -- Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija Director Marko Djuric says Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama's latest statement represent "an attack on peace."

Rama warned the EU that unless Albania and Kosovo unify through membership in that organization, they would do so "in the classic way."

Djuric told an extraordinary news conference in Belgrade on Tuesday that the statement "cannot bring anything except endanger the fragile stability in the region," and stressed that Serbia "will never allow for a classic unification of Albania and Kosovo" to take place.

"We are warning Albania to stop beating the war drums and fully commit itself to respecting international and good neighborly obligations that it has," Djuric said.

This Serbian government official added that the country's representatives were "addressing the international community as we speak."

According to him, Rama's statement represented "a threat that's under the jurisdiction of the EU and the UN," and that Serbia for this reason "expects relevant international organization to speak on this occasion and present their position on the statements that represent incitement to new divisions."

"This statement represents an attack on peace," Djuric underlined, and said this was not the first time that similar positions have been voiced, "pointing out the desire of Albania's leadership to redraw the borders of Serbia."

"These," Djuric concluded, "are the dreams of people who want to bring new ethnic divisions and conflict to the region."
Lets not talk about the past but the present, in the present no other people actively pushes or threatens for conflict right now. All others are too busy sorting out their economies.
