    Ripping sounds from a game's ROM?

    I'm trying to track down a copy of the item collect sound from Metroid Fusion - the short little 1-2 second noise it makes when you collect an additional missile pack and similar items. I can't find anything like that with a bit of searching, so I guess I'll need to figure out some way of ripping it myself. How exactly do you do that?

    I have ripped some for my twitch channel before. I just did it the ham fisted way by playing the rom and recording my desktop sound and chopping it out in audacity.
