Computer freezing / hanging / throwing BSOD's while playing games

    Hello,

First off I'll list my rig (this was a pre-built PC, now I know I made a mistake):

    - Asus B85M-G mobo
    - i5 4570S @ 2,9 GHz + CM Hyper 103 CPU Cooler
    - WD Caviar Blue 1 TB HDD
    - HyperX 8 Gb DDR3 1866 MHz (single stick)
    - GTX 750 Ti
    - Aqprox 500 W
    - Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit

My PC is only a year old, but ever since I got it I always had problems with it, mainly BSOD's.
So when I play games, mainly WoW, the game will randomly freeze / just hang, or I will get a BSOD. This usually happens when I try to open the map, click on an NPC, enter a portal, so basically when the game has to load something. It got so bad now I can't even play for 5 minutes. When it ends with a BSOD, sadly the PC won't create a dump file, so can't really analyze this myself, but it says it is a Kernel Data Inpage Error and often names the Ntfs.sys file. The only time when I get a dump file is when my CPU suddenly turns off and then back on (this happened a few times now). When the game hangs sometimes I can't even alt + tab out and close it with Task Manager, but if I manage to get to the desktop Windows is freezing too, although I can move the mouse I can't click on anything, so I have to hard reset. Sometimes when the freezing happens I can hear a small "click" noise from the inside of the PC, don't know if this has anything to do with the issue, just adding it.

    Things that I tried:

    - Clean Windows install (20+ times now)
    - Running tests (memtest overnight - no issue, FurMark - no problem, HD Sentinel / CrystalDiskInfo - no problem)
    - Installed latest chipset / audio / VGA drivers
    - Installed all Windows updates I got
    - Changed mobo, memory (under warranty)
    - Bought new SATA cable - no luck
    - Temps seem to be fine (while playing CPU is at 50°C, mobo at 30°C, vga at 40°C max.

I only get these problems when playing games, I can watch a 1080p movie, youtube, streams without a problem.
Any tip or suggestion is greatly welcome, I want to resolve this issue once and for all.

    Thanks in andvance!

This is pretty mindboggling to be honest.

When you do a fresh install, do you use a system restore that is ona hidden partition that comes with some drivers and junkware or do you do one from a clean ISO/USB install?

You say you replaced the ram and memory, did you sent it back and whats what they told you they did or are you a 100% certain you didn't get scammed and just got the same parts back?

It could be a faulty CPU/GPU, can you upload the dumpfile you do have somewhere?
My advice first of all would be to get a gpu from somewhere even if its a shitty one just to run wow and see if it crashes, just to rule that out.
Im curious what the issue ends up being.

Have you tried downclocking your ram? you mobo specs state:
    4 x DIMM, Max. 32GB, DDR3 1600/1333/1066 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory
    Dual Channel Memory Architecture
    http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/B85MG/specifications/
It could be due to running your ram at a not supported speed.
Also, have you tried another hdd/ssd?

When I do a fresh install I do it from an USB stick.

I'm 100% sure that the memory is not the old one, the old one was 1600 MHz and the new one is 1866 MHz, so that is changed for sure. As for the mobo, I can't really tell, but I think it is a new one. Sadly the shop where I bought the PC couldn't figure out the problem (the computer was there 10 times...), so they played the "guess what is the problem" game, and changed these 2 components.

I would upload the dump files, but don't know a site that is good for that.

I had the exact same issue with my old 1600 MHz ram. I'm not really a tech savvy, so no idea how / where to do that.
I also had issues on day one with my hdd when I got the PC, the shop replaced it and it was fine for a few months...
Can't really change parts, my friends are all console fanboys, they mainly have laptops.

Sounds like the old RAM was faulty and the your motherboard does not support the new RAM. Try going in to BIOS and setting the RAM to run at 1600.

Upload it to a googledrive or some other sharing website.

It indeed does not support ram running above 1600mhz, BUT we don't know if the ram is running at 1866mhz (does the asus bios even let you overclock your ram if the board doesnt support it?), and if the problem existed before the ram swap and it is the EXACT same issue, what are the odds of that really..

But thats not hard to find out, download cpu-z, go to the "memory" tab, make a screenshot and post it here please.

That PSU you have seems rather dodgy and seeing that your pc acts up once you start drawing more power I would not be surprised it is causing these issues.

If at all possible try to test your pc with a different higher quality one and see if it helps.

I never OC'd anything, didn't change a thing in the bios.

Hope this googledrive link will work: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B8...WUE&authuser=0

The thing is, there are absolutely no issues while running tests which push the PC to the limit, only games are causing trouble.

So that is running at 1600mhz and is fine, will post or edit later with my findings regarding the dump.

Edit: scratch that, you uploaded shortcuts to the dump rather then the dumps themselfs. Reupload the dumps themselfs please.

You say you have no temp issues, does that machine run a overclock?

http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/hwmon...nitor_1.27.zip could you run that while playing a game for 10minutes (state what game) and make me a screenshot of all the info (maximise the program).

Having a hardtime spotting in this dump what exactly causes it, gonna put them here and ask for some help.

Not saying this is the solution to your problem but I had the exact same issue, frequent bsod while playing games. I built this pc myself and for ages thought it was something I had done wrong.

I tried running it without each stick or ram, without the gfx card etc.
In the end it turned out to be my case, corsair 750d, which has a transparent screen. My dog walked past the case and his fur was almost sticking to the screen, the static electricity caused a bsod. I have since moved my case more under the desk so the dog can't get to it and have had no problems since, luckily no components were damaged.

At this point honestly, get a GPU from somewhere, even just a shitty one and play wow on it, if you dont crash after a time you normally definately would have atleast we got a lead.
