>simple menu...easy to read and order from

I've heard the primary reason in and out doesn't expand to more locations in more regions is because they are very particular about where they get their ingredients from and want to continue using the same suppliers to keep quality so high. or so I've been told...

Double-double animal style. Best-burger-ever. Service is great too. They treat their workers well. Starting pay is 10.50/hr.

I voted for Wendy's but the best fast food chain imo is Taco Time (not Bell), although I think it's only in WA state.

I know there was an "other" category, but those listed did seem to be the biggest nation wide.

Taco Time has more than 300 stores in the U.S. - I wonder if that beats any of the ones listed in the poll?

Subway: 43,000 (although not listed in the poll)
McDonalds: 36,000
Burger King: 13,000

Taco Bell: 5,800

So yea, I'd say Taco Time is beat :P Some of the best places are those smaller chains, though!

Chipotle for me. Hands down. Something about that rice in the burrito, and the way they grill their chicken. I know they are owned by McDonald's but the food is actually food there. Its not pink slime or mystery meat.

Short Answer: No, Chipotle is not owned by McDonald's.
Long Answer: Chipotle became a susidiary of McDonald's in 1999 when McDonald's acquired the controlling stake of the company. At one point, McDonald's owned shares accounting for approximately 87% of the voting power of Chipotle's common stock. In Chipotle's earlier stages, McDonald's helped Chipotle's operations by sharing its own distribution networks.

Currently, Mcdonald's no longer has anything to do with Chipotle Mexican Grill. They have divested completely from Chipotle.

All fast food is terrible and I stopped eating it years ago. That being said Wendys.

I chose Wendy's because it's the only thing locally I consider close to food.

In-and-Out is probably the best burger joint out there. The food is prepared right in front of you. Fresh fries: washed, peeled, cut and fried right there. Of course, they are privately owned and weirdo Christians but nobody's perfect I guess...

McDonalds in Switzrland is pretty good (but also most expensive in the world)
And we don't have that much of fast food chain here (there are still a few Burger King which I personnaly prefere, but you have to live near one)

On the US side. Tried 5 guys last fall in NYC, loved it. Didn't have time to try in-and-out in California last december (But if you are near Santa Monica, try Umami. I'm just in love with their burgers now)

Fav is Oporto's. Pretty sure they're aussie only but they do the best chicken burgers with a great chilli sauce and their breakfast is pure hang over cure.. I wish we had the US range of options here. I was blown away by choice when I visited.

Oporto is also in NZ. When I lived there, my Partner at the time worked for them. Free Bondi Burgers erryday!
