970 sli 4k gaming with this monitor?

I'm not sure if I should use a TV monitor for playing games at 4K. I'm not a hardcore gamer. I play GTA V online but that's about it. The rest of my games are offline like Sims and city builders / sims and ofc wow. thanks. Is the specs of this monitor compatible with 4K gaming with the 970 SLI? thanks...

There's a hardware section on the forum, this thread would be better suited there.

Sorry to bring this up not a tech expert but isn't there an issue with 970s on 4k resolution or gaming where they don't utilise the full VRAM or am I misinformed? Not trying to sway you away from it but I'm sure I read something like that a while ago.

i think they fixed it. they used only 3.5 gb ... but my 970 shows 4gb being used in bios.

It's impossible to fix. It will frame stutter if you touch the 3.5g mark which is worse than a frame drop. 970 is not recommended anymore for 4k resolution or even heavy skyrim modding.

How far away from the screen are you sat? I made the mistake of using a 40 inch tv as a monitor once....lol

After gaming on a Sony Bravia TV, I think all monitors are poor.

The Bravia has low input latency, and just a better all round picture. Having some good speakers from the TV provides a better gaming experience IMHO. Less hassle too.
