At 1920x1080 it's about 11%~ increase in games.

Whether you think that's worth it is your decision.

The GPU is the same but the cooler and build are not. Those are the main thing about 3rd party companies for the video card itself, this is completely ignoring customer support and all that stuff.
There are also different levels of factory overclock that may occur. The higher clocked ones are binned to be able to clock that high, therefore also more expensive.
ok and will 550w PSU be enought? also i am using Bitfenix shnobi midi tower , if it will fit
XFX Core Edition PRO Netzteil - 550 Watt
asking about both r9 290 and gtx 970
ok think i will pick that gigabyte card i linked , its 100 euros cheaper (and i hope i am right doing so d last call if anyone have any input before i order it.
also just curious , you expect prices for r9 2xx to drop when 300 models come out? is it worth a month wait?
cheers
People compaining about the performance of the last 512mb on the GTX 970 need to watch this.
It took running assassin's creed unity on ultra at 1440p before any shutter happen. The GTX 970 is a great 1080p/60fps card and a good 1440p/60fps card. It does matter what game your trying to run tho. The GTX 970 is the best in its price range unless something has changed and I didn't notice.
You can't go wrong with it and it runs cooler then the R9 290 and R9 290x.
OP: This is the one I am running and I have had it since march. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabyte-Nvi...+970+windforce It comes slightly OCed and doesn't cost much more then one that isn't.

yeah i watched some tech guys explaining that gtx issue everyone is complaining about , it doesnt bother me one bit tbh.
as for that card , even if i buy from uk its ends up being 380 euros + shipping . where https://www.caseking.de/shop/catalog...f4555ffa2a3e59 is on sale for 285 euros , thats 100 euros difference.
guys sorry for bumping this thread but whats the difference in GTX 970 and GTX 970 OC? OC one i find is cheaper , any reasons ?
edit: what would be the cheapest card that will last me about 2 years and will be able to run games on high / ultra? games such as BF4 / witcher etc . i dont really play many of high end games tho , play wow / LoL / diablo or skyrim time to time.

also about the second Question? whats the cheapest possible card that would run wow / diablo or upcoming game like Star citizen on ultra ? my CPU isnt Overclocked yet , still running at its base settings , would that bottleneck some of games?

Yeah strangely enough the cheaper one is the better at specs too, look its higher clocked.
