Right wing or left?

Hey, I have been browsing these forums for roughly about 2-3 years now. I have always found the things people post interesting, I notice some people are extremely right wing or left wing. Honestly. I myself live in Canada and I identify myself as right wing, and I'd like to make a general discussion going on in this thread, goal is to get as much info as possible and see just what this forums majority political views are, since I myself am quite curious & if you want please post why you have your political view point, example would be me being right wing due to following parents ideology's.

You'll find plenty of other blind nationalists with xenophobia as a trait. left wing you'll find less.

Not sure why you would openly come out to be right wing as that's nothing to be proud off, labeling yourself an extreme thinker.

Economically pretty damned left-wing.
On social issues it varies a lot. One day I'll get called a marxist, the next a nazi and another a feminazi. It's funny.

Depends on the issue, but both sides have gotten too looney tunes for me, so I tend to identify as slightly more libertarian these days, though according to some libertarians I don't completely tow their party line, so I don't know that I have a true political affiliation.

I find that those terms are becoming less and less usefull because of the different definitions, one of the parties in my country is even seen as both left wing and right wing.

"Independent" is saying only that you don't have traditional party affiliations, or are in an Independent party. Right or left wing more describes the ideological spectrum.

I don't know, and I have since started falling into the 'ignorance is bliss' category. The more I pay attention, the angrier/more worked up I get. So I prefer just to... not know things :P

I tend to fall into the 'middle of the road' pile. Though I think both sides have completely lost it. I don't trust a politician as far as I can throw them, and... that's not at all.

Neither. I'm an Independent. I don't blindly follow a political party, I try to weigh things and learn a little about the people I vote for. Honestly I doubt it does much, but it's more than just checking a box at least.

If I had to estimate, I'd say this forum consists of about 20% right-wingers, 10% moderates, 20% left-wingers, and the other 50% are right-wingers/moderates who for some reason delude themselves into thinking they are left-wingers.

pretty good responses so far, just for the record I am no fascist :P, however I believe people should work for what they want, not get it handed to them (obviously people with medically diagnosed illness who cant work need this) but if you can work, then you should work.

I'm against multiculturalism, against irresponsible immigration(Though, this is both an economic and social problem) policies, against religion, against quotas based on race/gender/sexuality etc.

What does this make me socially?
